With Alabama getting rolled, it’ll be interesting what the committee does with the final 3 spots with Alabama, Miami, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Texas. It would’ve been a bigger mess if BYU would’ve won or not get blown out by Texas Tech.

The committee really needs to get a back bone and stand up to the blue blood colleges. And go by head to head (regardless when they played), other analytics. I wish one was, not playing in a conference. And playing in a conference championship should some negativity depending on how bad you got beat.

With Indiana up 13-10 with 3 minutes left Ohio State throws an incomplete pass on 3rd and 1 from the Indiana 9 and then misses a 27 yard FG.
I don't mind trying to pass on 3rd down since you might get an easy touchdown to take the lead but IMO if you pass on 3rd and 1 you have to be willing to go for it on 4th and 1.
Passing on 3rd down and kicking on 4th down IMO shows a lack of confidence in the O line's ability to get a yard rushing.

Duke upsets Virgina in the ACC Championship game. The ACC Champion will not be in the playoff.
The 5 Automatic Qualifiers (Top 5 Conference Champions) will be
Indiana, Georgia, Texas Tech, Tulane, and James Madison. The Group of 5 conferences are going to get two bids to the playoffs.
James Madison has only been in the FBS since 2022.
The ACC will not have a team in the playoffs unless Miami gets in over Notre Dame or Alabama.
Duke won a wild 5 team tiebreaker over Miami to make it into the ACC Championship game.
One of Duke's ACC conference wins was 46-45 at Clemson where there was an "interesting" defensive pass inference call on 4th down against Clemson on the last drive that allowed Duke to keep the ball and score the game winning TD. That call could cost the conference millions of dollars due to not having a team in the playoffs. If Virginia and Miami would have played in the ACC championship game the conference would have been guaranteed to get a team in the playoffs.
So, on Monday, we're likely to have Indiana and Michigan as the #1 teams in the country in Bouncyball and Football

There’s some old money that is very unhappy with Notre Dame not making the playoff.
Last year in the next to last game of the regular season Oklahoma beat Alabama 24-3 to keep Bama out of the 12 team playoff in a season Oklahoma went 2-6 in the SEC and lost to Navy in a Bowl game to finish the season 6-7 (the four non conference wins were against Temple, Houston, Tulane, and Maine).
This season Oklahoma won at Alabama and went 10-2 (6-2 in the SEC).
In the first round of the playoffs Alabama plays at Oklahoma. ESPN currently shows Bama as a 1.5 point favorite.
The game is in 12 days on a Friday night in Norman, Oklahoma. Something tells me Oklahoma players and fans are going to jacked up/pissed about being a home underdog against a team they have beaten the past two years.
Alabama lost 4 games last year including loses to Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Michigan in the Reliaquest Bowl (what Bowl game is that) along with the blow out lost at Oklahoma.
This season Alabama has a 31-17 loss against Florida State who went 5-7 (2-6 in the ACC) and the blow out loss to Georgia yesterday (28-7) along with the loss to Oklahoma at home.
Alabama is no where near as good as they used to be.

Notre Dame was head of Alabama in weeks 13 and 14 but got past by Alabama last week when Bama sneaked out a win against Auburn (who was 1-7 SEC) on a 4th down touchdown with under 4 minutes left while Notre Dame beat Stanford 49-20 and then Alabama stayed ahead of Notre Dame after being blown out 28-7 yesterday.
Notre Dame was ahead of Miami weeks 11-15 and then Miami moved up two spots today and Notre Dame moved down one spot (even though neither team played) allowing Miami to pass Notre Dame to take the last at large spot in the playoff.
In both the AP (writer's poll) and coaches poll Notre Dame (10-2) is ranked #9, Miami (10-2) is #10, Alabama (10-3) is #11 and the poll points aren't even close Notre Dame is way ahead which means almost all of the 66 writers and 62 coaches have Notre Dame ahead of both Miami and Alabama.

The SDSU fans are not too pleased that their former coach ended up at Iowa State. He left South Dakota St for Washington St after last year and took a bunch of their best players with him. I wonder if those player will now follow him to ISU.

Yeah... A $500,000 fine is pretty much pocket change. Along with not being eligible the following year for a bowl or the CFP idea. Why not add, the college isn't eligible for any of the conference revenue from the bowls and CFP that year.

I understand the need for the committee to not punish teams for participating in (and losing, in this instance) conference championship games, but even the friends I have that would consider themselves Alabama homers have said Alabama has no right to be in the CFP this year. They've been leaking oil for the last 4-5 weeks and got EMBARRASSED by Georgia in the SEC championship game.
Is Notre Dame's sour grape attitude kinda pathetic? Yes. But I 100% understand it. They lost by 3 on a last minute FG (on the road) and by 1 (at home) on a last second TD (after their K missed an XP) against the #7 and #10 seeds in the CFP. Alabama lost by 14 to an AWFUL Florida State team, lost by 2 at home to #8 Oklahoma and then got thoroughly embarrassed by Georgia in the SEC championship. The committee apparently said that Alabama's win against Georgia outweighed the ass-whooping they took on Saturday and the ass-whooping they received against Florida State. I saw one tweet yesterday saying essentially "Notre Dame's week 1 loss on a last minute FG on the road to #10 Miami mattered for them, but Alabama's week 1 loss to a significantly worse (5 win?) Florida State team did not matter for them."
They spent the entire last 5 weeks being ranked ahead of Miami in the weekly CFP rankings. Then, on Sunday after Miami and Notre Dame were both idle, the committee decided that Miami was suddenly better based on BYU getting blown out by Texas Tech (the chairman of the committee's own words-he said they had ND as "better than BYU" but BYU better than Miami, and once BYU got blown out by TTU on Saturday they slid them behind Miami which then apparently made Miami better than Notre Dame as well). Not only is that logic insane to me, but it also means that apparently the SEC championship game is the only conference championship game that doesn't actually matter. OSU lost to Indiana by 3 and moved down 1. BYU lost to TTU and moved down. Alabama lost to Georgia and stayed in the same spot.
I understand the conundrum they face - They had Alabama as the #9 ranked team while they had Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Ole Miss ranked ahead of them. All 3 of those teams failed to qualify for the SEC championship game. So they can't keep those teams in and drop Alabama as a punishment for having enough success to go into the conference championship game without basically telling teams they should decline conference championship game bids if they're "on the bubble" of the CFP. But anyone who has watched Alabama down the stretch knows they're not the same team that beat Georgia, Vandy, Tennessee, and Missouri in 4 consecutive weeks, which is the reason they were ranked as highly as they were. They needed 2 TDs in the final 2:15 to beat a bad South Carolina team. Then they lost at home to Oklahoma. Then they needed a 4th down, 4th quarter miracle in the final 2 minutes to beat a bad Auburn team. And they capped off that stretch with Saturday's ass-whooping against Georgia. If they were good enough to be in the SEC title game and barely qualified for the CFP then why are two teams that sat at home (A&M and Ole Miss) ranked so much higher than them in the CFP? Especially when A&M's only "impressive win" is against a team the committee deemed not worthy of the CFP now (Notre Dame)?
The whole thing was a disaster from start to finish, beginning with Miami being ranked behind ND all season long after their two losses (to unranked teams) if the committee was going to make the determination that their week 1 head-to-head matchup was the determining factor. (I don't necessarily disagree that H2H games should matter but the committee disregarded their matchup for the entirety of their rankings until both teams were idle this weekend - I'm also of the belief that if that game was played in week 6 or 7 vs week 1 Notre Dame would have won by 10+).
