The Gophers opponent in 2 weeks, Cal, is looking good vs. Oregon State.
I think 3 different RBs got carries on that last possession.
Would be epic to see the duo rushing threats like a Barber/Maroney or Maroney/Russell like the early 2000's.
I think long-term this season that's their plan to run Taylor/Turner as a duo. Didn't see much of Turner in the second half but he led the nation in yards/carry last year for Marshall and is an extremely dynamic runner. Hoping he can get his footing this week and take some of the load off of DT because we can't run him into the ground again this season.
I liked what I saw out of Lindsey overall this week. He had some mistakes (the sack at the end of the first half certainly wasn't ideal but it's better than a turnover) but the kid has a really good arm and had 3-4 flat out drops that could have boosted his stats even higher and put him at like 23/35 for 330+ yards.
I was also very impressed that the coaching staff took the reigns off right away. Think he had 20 pass attempts in the first half. Brosmer had 22 pass attempts total in the season opener against UNC last year and a decent chunk of those 22 were in the last 2-3 drives.
Defense looked fantastic on Thursday. Obviously not the stiffest competition for them but they were FLYING. Our defensive line could be a problem for a lot of offensive lines if they can all stay healthy. 2 sacks and 7 TFLs for the team IIRC? They were really fun to watch.
Have a tune-up game next before we play Cal who looked pretty stinking good against Oregon State on Saturday behind their true freshman QB.
@beauner I thought Lindsey looked good for his first start. Obviously has a strong arm, and he was pretty accurate overall. Did have a tendency to stare his receivers down a bit but hopefully they can work on that. Promising start for him.

Hopefully the Taylor injury won't keep him out. Always get nervous when guys grab the back of their legs. He walked to the sidelines with a little limp but under his own power and stayed on the sidelines after leaving the tent so hopefully it was just a cramp.

They've picked on Koi a few times so far. He seems behind the play and allowing easy catches. Need to get pressure on the QB and not let him dance back there.

Refs are having a heck of a time spotting the ball on runs. That last TD drive, the top official mid-spotted the ball 4 different times. He’s not even in the proper position and is making no effort to catch up to the play. Didn’t matter, but extremely frustrating to watch.
