How many Slaggerts are there and how much eligibility do they still have?
Less than the Pietelas, I’m told.
If they win tonight I say they should pull a Sweden and wear these golds for home and away.

Yeah, it keeps buffering here.
Had a brief hiccup on the network, too.

Sluggish third period but at this point just see out the win. Don’t care how they do it, just get it done.
This third has been frustrating to watch. We went into a shell so early with only a 1 goal lead. We seem to be just letting them enter the zone and take a shot from the perimeter. That is how you give up the tying goal.
I'm not saying this is a top 5 worst win but just frustrating play.
Notre Dame pulls their sieve with 3 minutes left and Lamb scores an empty netter.
Gopher up 2-0 with 2:46 left.

Win pretty, win ugly. Don't care.

John Whipple from 200 feet!!!! His first Gopher goal.
3-0
Ziemer finishes the game with 7 shots on goal which means he will score on his first shot on goal tomorrow since he scores every 7.5 shots on goal.
Tomorrow night, let's add another brick to the wall we are building. 😉

From your lips to God’s ears.
Luca with the shot out making 19 saves.
Felt like a gritty win by the Gophers tonight. Notre Dame is pretty bad and it was just one win but I’ll take anything right now. Good to get back in the win column. Especially when that W includes a shutout for Luca and a first collegiate goal for Whipple!
Well based on the #1 best selling self help book “Baby Steps” by Dr. Leo Marvin. This is a very nice first baby step to reach our goal! Great 1st and 2nd periods, went into a little bit of a shell in the 3rd but overall I will take it. I am feeling positive. Good job boys!
Luca looks like he's 30.
Luca got the only assist on the Whipple goal.
Luca is an Aerospace Engineering major. This makes sense since his play is out of this world. So much for athletes taking easy classes.
Love the headband from Luca!
Not as much offense chances in the 3rd period but still out shot Notre Dame 8-6.
Shots on goals for the game were 34-19 and the expected goals were 2.7 to 1.5.
The Gophers played very well defensively in all three periods.
Man it feels good to come on here and not bitch and moan for once. Was it perfect? God no. But it was better. Noticeably better.
Gotta come back with Luca tomorrow right?
That Whipple goal was hilarious 😂 way to milk that celly kid

You realize it's not a requirement right? 😉

Yes it feels great to be at least content! But I would go with Airey, so I can compare apples to apples when judging performance. But I would not have a problem going back to Luca tomorrow. It’s just how my mind works.
My guess is Luca plays tomorrow and then both goalies play a game next weekend against Long Island.

kids waited a long time for this moment. The whole team was pretty damn excited for him too
The team is undefeated when Teddy Townsend plays he is clearly the MVP of the team. 😉 😀
baby steps in the right direction. sound puck despite the fumbles and such you expect, but they were synced so very much more than they have been.
Little example but made my heart happy. End of shift breakout and 2 guys get off while puck goes up ice and 3rd forward with puck slows down and stalls and dumps just as the guys fresh off bench get near to the blue line to forecheck.
little thing but goes so much in starting the forecheck and making your team harder to play against. Good to see them learning and growing together.
Kudos to LJ tonight as well. Kid is electric on the puck. Him with Moe and Pritchard looks funny out there but it worked pretty well

Great take away! On par with my thoughts. It’s not like we were playing the 92-93 Maine Black bears, but we weren’t playing North Hennipen Community College Intramural either. My hope is that they continue and improve on what they did today over the next three games, then we might really have really clicked.
Notre Dame didn't look too good, but the boys played hard tonight and earned the win.
Man I love when we win
Better crowd than I thought it was going to be. Feels good leaving the rink with a win. Notre Dame is brutal.
Solid win. Hope they don't get destroyed in the face-off circle again tomorrow. I thought MN began to look tired as the game went on and if they have to chase again tomorrow it could lead to a better Notre Dame showing.

Big win for the Gophers!
So this means if they continue to wear the Gopher's Gold they will keep on winning right?
Great game by Luca Di Pasquo, a shutout and an assist!
Testosterone and drinking most likely. Based on the jail roster, who arrested them, the age, and the pic that UMPD released around that time matching the name on the roster it's pretty easy to narrow it down.A little searching reveals the likely person (NOT going to name them). Definitely makes me wonder what happened.Hmmm. From today's Pioneer Press.
According to Motzko, Gophers freshman forward Teddy Townsend is expected to join the team’s lineup later this month. Townsend, 20, was hospitalized following an on-campus assault the night of Sept. 20 and has not played as a result of the injuries suffered in the attack. On Oct. 29, U of M Campus Police arrested a former high school and college hockey player as a suspect in the attack. He was booked into the Hennepin County jail, and released two days later. He has not been charged. Townsend, who is from Eden Prairie, had 40 points in 56 junior hockey games for the Waterloo (Iowa) Black Hawks last season.
Agreed with above. Glad the (presumed) culprit has been apprehended and will have their day in court.
Both played in UMNESHL in ‘22-23 so paths have likely crossed. One plays for Hamline and one plays for the Gophers. The one that plays for Hamline has 3” and 20lb on the Gopher.
Held him for 36hr and didn’t get him in front of the judge. First degree assault is a serious charge.
Glad Teddy is OK.
Wear the golds and start Luca for the sweep

I really liked Schierhorn on the call on TV tonight. Always good to get insight from guys who are not too far removed from playing.
Interesting comment from Bob about the meeting with the sophomores this week to remind them they need to step up their game.
Mooney was electric last night, amazing hands & acceleration plus the bench celebrated when he blocked a shot late in the third.

Finally watched the recording, not the prettiest game to watch but the effort was there. I do wonder about the teams conditioning or pacing sometimes, they came out flying in the first but definitely were lugging it in the third. That’s been an ongoing issue going back to previous seasons.
Javon Moore and Jimmy Clark do a great job forechecking causing a turn over and then set up Lamb Chop!!!!!
Gophers up 1-0 less than 4 minutes in.

but like think of how cool it could’ve looked!
Unless the Gophers start doing something different Notre Dame is going to win this game. COME ON BOYS!
Nice pirouette after that penalty. lol

This will be PP #31 on the season. We have 3 goals. In danger of falling below 10% on the PP.
I’m convinced someone bet Moe that he couldn’t pass up a dozen great scoring chances.
