It was mentioned by Motzko both Townsend and Moe are hurt.
Chat will be going tonight.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Cal Thomas is listed at 6’1” & 220lbs. Wow, he must of added some significant muscle since March 2025.
Barto in net for Tech
ZIEMER FROM CLARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gruba with the 2nd assist.

Gotta correct the O-zone control by Tech...

Frank and Pat are very comical to listen to.
1. Great pace, but Tech has had way too much puck possession; starting to turn around though.
2. Wish Lamb went for the easy north-south play instead of losing the puck when the Tech defender blew a tire
3. Really liking the puck movement and mid-shift adjustments by the PP1 unit. PP2 unit did not look good and I question why Rud is on it.
4. I know he means well but Pat’s incorrect remarks are driving me crazy.
(a) Barto was in net when we swept Michigan @ Yost, and Pat doubling-down on his belief that it was @ Sparty had me gritting my teeth.
(b) Lakeville South is the Cougars. Lakers = Prior Lake.
(c) Ziemer laid the big hit at the Tech blue line. I don’t know why Pat kept yammering that Javon Moore had thrown it.
5. I want an explanation for the Moore goal being disallowed. Is it illegal to make a power move cutting to the net now?
How do the guys look so far?
@ Would have liked to have seen more shots on goal during power play. Liked some of the puck possessions they had but it's way early in the season. Airey seems confident in the crease IMHO.

Yeah the puck went into the net and there was some contact between Moore and the Owen B (the Tech goalie). I didn't see a replay of it and would definitely like to see the replay. It was certainly an interesting play that IMO should have gotten a closer look.
Freshmen Tate Pritchard!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hendrickson with the only assist.
Gophers 2-1
It is certainly illegal to fall into the goaltender and pus him through the back of the net. Gophers got a break that it wasn't a goaltender interference penalty.1. Great pace, but Tech has had way too much puck possession; starting to turn around though.

it’s honestly absurd that we got no replay or ref explanation on the goal, if you think about it (on B1G+ at least; maybe the arena did during a TV break)
Refs should not get to intervene in such a potentially game-deciding way without even telling us their reasoning.

It was a high speed play that we did not get any replay for on B1G+. I didn’t get to see with my own eyes what happened, out of 3 potential scenarios:
(a) Moore had plowed into Barto thus preventing him from making the save; or
(b) Tech defender was the main force crashing into Barto; or
(c) Moore scored, then his momentum carried him into Barto; or
(d) Barto could’ve been too aggressive and put himself in the path of danger.
Scenarios (b), (c), (d) would all be good goals. But unfortunately, I didn’t get to see a replay.
Fernandez is one of those B1G refs who hates us, right? I think he was responsible for that debacle @ Wisco a few years ago when like 3 Gopher goals got waved off in the one game, including a late go-ahead goal like 20 seconds after the flop of the century by UW’s goalie, on some minor contact by Nelson.
Hopefully Moore keeps driving to the net like he did and gets reward for it. His size can cause MAJOR problems for the opponent.
I've also noticed Hendrickson driving to the net this will likely be a key for this year's team the need to get more ugly goals.
Clark with a nice pass to set up Moore who was driving to the net but Owen B with a HUGE save to keep it a one goal game.
That was too easy.

Yeah that was a defensive breakdown.
And another one 😥
And again.

That was also too easy…
Our 3rd defensive pair has been on the ice for all three Tech goals but coach is clearly sticking with them (giving them needed ice time to grow). They will be needed this year so you have to stick with them and give them the chance to gain the experience to get better.
Whipple has been better than McLaughlin.
3rd period:
Puck control, puck control, puck control.
Tech has been doing that all night, and here we are.

Hendrickson hits the post.
So far Tech has done a better job of capitalizing on their chance.

I thought it was Rombach who blew his coverage on the 3rd Tech goal. His skating concerns me. Gruba has also been quiet this period after a solid 1st.
Not having Gruba in the 2nd has hurt too

It's because Gruba is in the locker room. Not in the ice.

my bad- I don’t know how I missed that. Guess my brain must’ve assumed Thomas and Rud were Gruba a few times.
Losing Gruba for any length of time this year will be terrible. Hope he’s okay.
@walker-barely-know-her This is what happens when your coach mails in a recruiting class. You have no one to step up.
I'm so glad it only took one game, instead of 8-10 games. This way I will waste less time and not get invested in the team. Whew.

Yes very considerate I agree
1st goal is on Airey but Mclaughlin did create the 3x2 for Tech. Our 3rd defensive pair has been on the ice for all three Tech goals but coach is clearly sticking with them (giving them needed ice time to grow) they will be needed this year so you have to stick with them and give them the chance to gain the experience to get better.

2nd goal was Mittlestadt, Begley, and Mclaughlin all getting lost in their own zone.
3rd goal was a bad turnover by Moore, lucky bounce for Tech, and some awful awareness from Mclaughlin

That only took two periods. Alright…
😂
1st goal was on Pritchard for not tying up the rebound getter who scored imo, unless you blame Airey for the rebound which I suppose could be true I’d have to watch it back.
LJ Mooney will a sweet backhand pass to set up Ziemer (his 2nd goal) and we are tied at 3.
Ziemer = Dawg
LAMB goes top shelve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Moore with the play to set it up.
Gophers up 4-3
Season is not quite over yet.
