I haven’t had a fantasy football team in at least 10 years but my special needs nephew asked me to be in his league. I drafted Taylor in the first round 7th overall and Jones as my backup QB in the second to last round. Nobody thought they’d be the #1 offense in the league so working out pretty well. I thought it set up as a very good opportunity for Jones as it would have here. Also no surprise that Warren is a stud.

The reason I’m surprised they didn’t ensure Jones was here is there’s no way McCarthy is making every throw in practice and then losing his mechanics during the game. In actuality they probably got to see very little of him in practice as he was hurt and still named him starter going into camp. Now they’re stuck.

They effectively paid him off one big year and beating the Vikings in the playoffs. Personally I would've franchise tagged him and made him prove it but they gave him a big deal and guaranteed money that put him on par with guys like Stafford when they signed him. i get they were making a play for a franchise QB but was an awful lot of money real soon imo

However, in his long list of things he needs to figure out, JJ needs to figure out that you don't throw a 100 mph fastball over the middle to a wide open receiver. There were a couple of those and it only increases the percentages that there is a drop.

Vikings need to ride out next 7 games (hopefully McCarthy stays healthy) to give him the necessary experience for 2026 & hope he learns & improves while under fire.
