Where one guy gets it short-sighted is they're not going to hand over the #1 spot to a career 92 RTG QB that averaged 7 wins per season on a team that is not even in Win Now mode. The Vikings cap will prevent them from adequately fixing the OL, RB, WR among other positions that need help, and they still need to find out sooner than later if JJ can be a franchise guy or not.

I’m honestly not a K.Murray fan, he’s short so struggles seeing the middle of the field, which idonno seems kinda important.😂 KOC seems to think they will work around this with designed bootlegs, etc.. I envision scrambling for his life, throwing on the move but ok. I agree with the needs to fill which I’m assuming are or will be draft discussions. Ok so the thing with the Vikings that’s confusing and to your point “not even in win now mode” and salary cap issue is they believe they are in win mode and always avoid that word rebuild. Justin Jefferson, 4 for 140 and his last two years on it are gonna be cap hits of over 50 million per.. my point is, they are in win mode because of that. The confusing part is they seem to never get it, Jefferson is great obviously but he’s like the fancy, expensive interior bells and whistles in a beat up truck that was built from the inside out. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Imo Murray gets to try to make this magic with Jefferson so that it all seems right and logical. Just my thought.🍻

The Vikings had a s**t OL last year - no QB was going to thrive behind it. They signed Murray on the cheap for a veteran QB and he's never proven to be overly successful. All I'm saying is the spot is open, but they have no reason nor logic to have Murray penciled in given they do not have the personnel to expect a playoff run right now. Think big picture.
@slap-shot I totally agree, O line is an issue, hasn’t been their strength since the late 90’s. also agree the spot is “open competition”. Also agree I don’t think they win the division or make the playoffs. Where things get weird is the Vikings never see it that way. They have the best receiver in the game and need someone to get the ball in his hands and that’s all this is about and to again agree I don’t think Murray is the total solution. To disagree for just good natured discussion😁I don’t know anything more than anyone else but I feel the Vikings think he’s at least part of that solution. He’s a measuring stick for McCarthy and gives veteran leadership to the position. Sure feels to me McCarthy got the keys to the team bus taken away until there’s a reason to give them back that’s all. Murray is gonna get his chance.

With Wentz back which was expected and the Vikes having all of their QBs lined up in March for the upcoming season. It is pretty clear that the Vikes no plan for JJ to see the playing field.

Not entirely for the Vikings. The interim GM, not gonna try and spell his name, is a highly likely candidate to be the full time GM. He isn’t some newbie trying to fill a spot and be KOC’s yes man. He’s been with the team for 2 decades and knows what he’s doing. I’m sure KOC and Flores will have their input, but he has to be running the show.
Yeah Brzezinski is the numbers guy and yep a leading candidate for the job at the moment correct, and OC is taking on the more personnel role now from the little I know. I don’t see it as a bad thing. There’s pressure to get it right yeah but it’s not like the team is or has been circling the Super Bowl wagon or anything and are scratching their heads to get over the hump. It would be nice to hear something positive on the Vikings salary cap situation because they have needs plus a money problem and need to nail things in the draft and get production during rookie contracts and develop their own stars for awhile.
