my buddy’s kid is doing great after his double lung transplant. He still has quite a bit a road of healing and recovery. He is still recovering in St. Louis and probably won’t be able to come home until after Thanksgiving. Though the Iowa Hawkeye football team is his number one supporter and the players truly are concerned by sending messages, texts, tweets to him. They sent him this poster this week

The doctor said everything looks great with Justice’s new lungs and even said she wouldn’t be surprised if the biopsy results came back with ZERO rejection of the lungs!!!
Iowa was up 13-10 in the 4th quarter at home but Indiana scores 10 straight points capped by a 49 yard TD pass with 1:28 left to beat the Hawkeyes 20-15. Indiana gave up a safety on the last play of the game to run out the clock.
The game winning TD drive was 5 plays, 76 yards, in 33 seconds. That's not great defense. 😀
Yeah I saw that too. I get fans being excited but storming the field that quickly is a bit much. I was waiting for there to be a fight. Multiple Virginia students/fans while running onto the field were taunting Florida State player including given them the double middle finger while getting in front of them to make sure they saw it. Yeah that's not asking for trouble. 🤔
There has been altercations with fans and players during field rushes. And it doesn’t fared well for the fans. And every time the fans played the victim game.

Yeah, this isn't your fathers Iowa defense this year. The DB's are having a hell of time doing their job and that is even with a former five star recruit in Xavier Nwankpa. The other item of worry is that Gronowski went out with an injury, looks to be a knee thing because he was wearing a knee brace when he came out of the injury tent. So much of this is really leading me to believe Iowa may only get a couple more wins this season. Every area of this team has had issues, either bad play or injuries. Which sucks because this is the best offensive line they have had in the last hand full of seasons.

I was watching the game with two friends of mine who are big Penn state fans and they were furious with Franklin, the OC, and Drew Allar. Bad throw by Allar for sure and pretty bad how he’s a senior QB at a big time program and was blatantly staring down his receiver. BUT whoever called that play should also get some serious heat. Why on earth would you pass it there? It’s first and ten on your 25 in OT so no game clock and you have two stud RBs. Run the damn ball!

Hank Brown, a transfer from Auburn who saw action in two games there. Interesting tidbit is that former Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald's son is a freshman QB at Iowa. I'm not sure where he stands in the depth chart though. Iowa does have a tough stretch to end their season; I see coin flips with Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Nebraska. Ass whippings by Penn State and Oregon and I'm not sure what to think about Michigan State or USC. If Iowa gets more than three more wins I will be shocked...absolutely shocked. Iowa may only get two more wins and then I think pitch fork nation might be coming for Kirk.

Well...he probably should. He probably should have left when Chris Doyle was forced out, really Iowa hasn't been the same since. But no Ferentz has made no insinuation to retirement at all. A lot of fans believe he will now that he is the all time wins leader in the B1G. Then the argument begins with who do they pick to replace him. Top of the list is Seth Wallace or Levar Woods. I don't believe Phil Parker wants the hassle of being the overall leader of a program at Iowa or anywhere else.

Indiana moves up to #3 in both the AP and the coaches poll. They've got a very favorable schedule the rest of the way and I hope they run the table. As for Curt Cignetti, I think it would be great if he stays at Indiana and continues to build that program, instead of jumping for an opening at a "premier" program.
Matt certainly has Nebraska moving in the right direction, but it seems premature for a program like PSU to go that route. But who knows.
All I know is PSU just had its entire 2027 recruiting class decommit. They had 3 top prospects in that class. Will be interesting to see what happens to the 2026 class and what does PSU do to keep it together for another half a season.
Everyone thinks PJ is overpaid for a 7-5 to 8-4 win coach, but he’s in the mid to bottom half of the B1G.
IN has decided they’re a football school. Both in coach spend and NIL support.
If anything sinks Coyle it will be NIL investment. Our balanced budget requirements tie his hands on coach salaries, so until the Regents and MN decides we want to be a football school that issue doesn’t go away.
Feels like status quo here could be detrimental if the other floundering programs go all in like this.
Cignetti is now the 3rd highest paid coach in NCAA after Kirby Smart ($13 million/year average) and Ryan Day ($12.5 million/year average)
If a school is willing to pay a $45 million buyout after firing a coach, I’ve got to think one would pay Cignetti’s $15 million buyout if they want him bad enough.

*Advanced has requirements per Massey to be included. It can’t just be something stupid like “most yards”. Some are predictive, some are backward looking only. It’s a really broad set that kind of averages out all of the strengths and weaknesses of any individual ranking system.
anyways, they had Miami in the top three. It was objectively warranted.
Edit: apparently they’re down to 81 systems and the lowest Miami was ranked was 13th. Median system ranking was 4th, which is the third best overall.
