This may fall under the category of foolish optimism but I feel a good performance coming one night this series. Statement win. Which game is anyone’s guess lol.
I also have some optimism for this weekend. Penn State has been pretty inconsistent, and they are missing some key guys. We are finally healthy, and I like some of the adjustments I saw on Saturday last weekend, particularly on the PP and creating traffic in front of the net. This team is not going to score on as many first chances as they did with star studded rosters so they need to get the second and third chances by playing a different style of game.
I have been critical of the promotions dept for years, but to create outrage because they want people to wear white is a bit much. If you don't have a white Gophers jersey, shirt or hoodie, who cares? Wear another Gopher color. It is supposed to be fun and it cost the U nothing. In years past, the U would have shirts to give to all of the fans to wear. We all know money isn't flowing into the U like it used to, so I get why it isn't done for everyone except the students anymore. I would love for a sponsor to step up and give away white shirts at the door so everyone would have a chance to get one. We also know that none of these (fill in the blank color outs) never work very well here, even in the years when the team has been ranked #1. I'm lucky enough to have a white jersey, so I will wear it tonight. I'm sure I will be in the minority.
I went and bought a white sweatshirt for the ice out last year. I don't mind the color out games, and I can even get behind a whiteout game. But the decision to do a whiteout game against Penn State when the white out is their "THING"? Just poor planning.

Great to hear Pat The Rat. His “oh” when it should be a penalty on the opponent or “sss” when we turn it over but like me hope they do not score…are like chicken noodle soup.
Driving during the first period but was listening on the radio, it sounded like they were moving well and getting chances. Also sounded like the goals given up in the first were more of the uncommon type, due to strange occurrences. Watched the 2nd, I liked a lot of what I saw. Feet were moving, they seem to be making the correct pass more frequently and the passing in general has been crisp and on target. They just seem to be skating with more purpose than they have all season, I like this and pray that it continues! Go Gophs!

I loved the scrum at the end! Great to see the passion in the boys! They should be proud of the way they played. I know I am. The best game they have played to date. Got on their heels a little too much in the third, but didn’t completely go into a defensive shell. But, hell yeah! Can’t wait till tomorrow night!
