Denver is 9-4-1. They lost in OT to ASU on Saturday, after winning their prior 6 games. Their leading point getter is former BSU defenseman, Eric Pohlcamp, as he has 16 points. Quentin Miller is 8-3-1 with a 1.64 GAA and 941 sv%. Denver is 40th in PP% @ 16.7%. They are 13th in PK% @ 83.8%. They are 7th in the nation in Goals per game and 3rd in the nation in GAA. Will be another tough test for the Gophers.

going to sound weird to say for late Nov game, but this is a massive one. DU has lost to Lindenwood and AA (joys of teams figuring out their identity amirite?), but swept WMU on the road and hasn't lost since October. Hopefully can carry momentum/progress from last weekend into this one and finish the first half strong these next 2 weekends
Just looked it up. It does appear that the game will be on Fox9+

Thanks for the confirmation. I don't get Fox9 in my area so could not check channel guide.

As a Denver native, UofM undergrad and Grad school alum, and someone who moved back to Denver, I am so excited for this game! Go Gophers!
Any Gophers planning on also being there?
There's a handful of us that are heading out for the game, yes. I'll let the others pipe up for themselves.

I’m not, but keep an eye on your Denver-area UM Alumni Association. If it’s fairly active and organized, they might be sponsoring a social, or have a bar reservation, something like that.
Just had myself an excellent weekend full of alumni festivities put on by my local Chicago UMAA for Gophs @ NU football, on-field results be damned. Lotta great people, booked a great bar right outside Wrigley to provide a home base for Gopher fans on gameday, and they hosted an alumni social the night before at the “main” U bar here which was nice for us to watch the Friday night PSU game at.
Rumor has it the wife and I will be flying out to Denver. Not sure if I can keep up with the professional road trippers.

yep, love that place! Delicious curds and cheap beer, and someone always queues up the Rouser on the jukebox app thingy. Watched most of both the 2022 and 2023 postseasons there. I remember you could hear a pin drop for like 5 straight minutes, felt like eternity that we were down 2-1 vs. Canisius…
Selfishly, I’d love for more of our games to be nationally broadcast (BTN, FS1, ESPNU) so that me and my friends can have it on the TV at the bar while living out of state. But I realize that’s unpopular here
Am I wrong that it's unusual for Fox9+ to televise a game from Denver?Just looked it up. It does appear that the game will be on Fox9+

They are picking up the Denver broadcast, just like the games vs the Whioux. Glad they are doing this more for those who have Fox9+.
BTW, for those with a regional sports pack, the game will be also shown on Altitudes alt channel. For DirecTV it is 681-1

Way back in 2008, ended up at one of those DU alum things, got an invite from an old-school USCHOer, Puck Swami (awesome guy). For the life of me, can't remember the bar name, though. The bar was ok, the stories told by the alumni that night really were the meat on the bone, so to speak.
If you can get to "The Mall" (think, our Nicollet Ave), Appaloosa Cafe has really good bison.

I'm thankful ch 9 carries so many games.
Same here. I might not be happy with many of the results this year but having the option to watch is stellar.I'm thankful ch 9 carries so many games.
As luck has it, I'm on the same flight as the team. They seem in good spirits waiting for boarding.

did you tell them to skate hard and score more goals than Denver? They might not know
in all seriousness though, good to hear they’re feeling good and have fun at the game!
Winning the axe and beating Denver would be a hell of a Saturday. Not sure how I feel about either of those things however.

Vegoe calling out Lamb and Pahlsson on the penalty kill was spot on.
Move Moe up in the lineup and move Pahlsson to 4th line.

My only issue with that is it doesn’t seem like Pahlsson plays a very hard or gritty game and usually I want to see my fourth line go in play hard, create chaos, and if they score then great. I really liked the 3M line last week and I don’t know if I would break that up. But 100% agree on the PK.

Fair point. Well, whatever line gets the least amount of ice time is the line 72 should be playing on.
This is one the Gophers have to win!
They sure are capable if they play their game!
I’m lucky to get altitude sports channel for tonight! Gooooo gophers!! Rah!

Luca starts. McLaughlin sits.

I like giving Luca the net here. McLaughlin healthy scratch against Denver of all teams is… oof.
Need Pahlsson to take advantage of this chance and run with it. He and Mooney are both very skilled. Mooney and Ziemer are super energetic players. The venn diagram is there. Put it to good use.
Tanner Ludtke has another level that he can get to this season.
Obviously, health (missing 5 games) has been an important factor but 5 points (3 goals and 2 assists) in 11 games with a -4 is not a great start to the season. He only has 10 shots on goal. A 30% shooting success rate is VERY goal though.
He scored in the last game so hopefully that gets him going but playing with two freshmen makes it more difficult.
He is likely our most talented center (3rd round draft pick - Nashville) and is a Junior.
Denver has lost to Alaska and something called Lindenwood and they're ranked fourth in the nation?
Also, frozen4 did not mention their leading scorer is from Brainerd. Another miss.
Denver on the road swept the defending national champions by a combined score of 9 to 4 and beat Boston College on the road 7-3.
The loss to Alaska-Anchorage was 4-3 in OT (3 on 3 goal), the shots where Denver 49-20, and the expected goals where Denver 4.9 to 1.7
I didn't realize the last time these teams played each other was 12 years ago... Crazy...

Pritchard 1-0.

Tate Pritchard on a rebound off a Javon Moore shot!!!!
Great start. Smart play by Javon on that shot pass. Get the next goal now!
We need Luca to stand on his head to get through any PK lol
My name is Luca, I live on the upper tier....

Kind of a soft call but Ludtke has to take that penalty. Time for Luca to come up big. It’s been all DU the past few minutes.
Boys are playing like the puck is a hand grenade.
Buckberger 1-1, PPG.

Gophers lucky to be in the game, thank goodness for Luca.
Totally outclassed in that period, gotta figure something different out or this is going to be 8-1

Super soft. He played it perfectly in my eyes.
Was all DU the whole period. Luca going sicko mode

When it was brought up that John Mittlestadt isn’t playing on the PK I was truly shocked. He seems made for playing on the PK.
