5 of the 7 Big Ten teams are top 12 in Pairwise. Notre Dame is #18 and Wisconsin is #30 so none in the bottom half.
2 of the 8 NACHO conference teams are in the top 15 and 3 of the 8 are in the bottom half.
The Big Ten conference is clearly the better conference and that doesn't change even if a NACHO team happens to win the NCAA tournament. A single elimination tournament doesn't determine which conference is better.

Maybe their goalies need to take more "supplements".
? Actually it's the way the team is playing defense that Hastings is most upset with right now not how the goalies are playing. The defensemen aren't playing defense as much as worrying about turning the puck up to get into the offensive rush. The forwards aren't playing defense well at all either. The talk is that Hastings challenged the captains to right the ship this weekend or he was going to right the ship his way and change a lot of things to get something going.
Their are fans that are going chicken little on this team...which I am finding much pleasure in.

As always, Michigan is soft. They have talent coming out their ears but they have zero grit so unless they can get into a full on firewagon game they are in a lot of trouble. Red's teams could grind if needed since him though they resemble the team from the film Mystery, Alaska.
The Big Ten currently has 5 of the top 11 teams in Pairwise/RPI. The Gophers are 6-2 against the other four teams. Those teams would be higher if the Gophers would quit beating them. ?

Hastings told the donors last week that the Mavs will have to play into the tournament this year because of the way they have played so far this year. Things don't get easier for them as they play Bemidji here in Mankato this week, always a tough series for the Mavs.

UND seems to figure it out. if the Gophers play .500 the rest of the Conf. season PSU would need 4.6 pts per weekend to pass us. I feel pretty good that we can outpace .500 which would push PSU to 5 plus. Seems tough.

Early early forecast looks like we might have a chance to clinch the Big Ten title in Pegula?. Will be a huge series regardless.
At the holiday break, these 3 notable teams are in for an uphill battle.
Pairwise-
20. Mankato
T22. North Dakota
38. Minnesota Duluth
Of these 3 , I feel Kato has the easier path. They could easily win the CCHA tourney and they could end up in the teens pairwise sake.
Kato & the Fning Hawks will get in, UMD is screwed, getting swept by Bucky (pairwise effect) is worse than another MN team losing to St Lawrence from seasons past ?
