The Big 12 has always been a joke...I mean Nebraska was a power ? ?

As for Deion, he would get paid wherever he went.  Colorado is at best a stepping stone job now so why go there and deal with the issues there?  I mean we all know he is waiting for a better job anyways but still.

As for the CFP, neither tOSU or Bama should qualify.  Any "tournament" that would take at larges over conference champs is ridiculous.  This system sucks.

@g-manpuck are people thinking Laporta stays another year?

I don’t see how Laporta stays another year, he was the best TE in B1G on the worst offense in the nation!   Why put himself through another year of that crappy offense.

With Ohio St making the playoff, I sure hope that the Rose Bowl takes Purdue over Penn St.  Just to see a different team in the game and not keep giving it to the same few teams.

The 2/3 game should be good but none of these teams can hang with Georgia

I REALLY want to see a Michigan-tOSU national championship game.

Not only will the ratings be off the charts, but to hear the collective screaming of the $EC would be glorious.

As much as I dislike Michigan in particular, and to a lesser extent OSU I would happily savor every moment of that.

I don't think the ratings will be as good as you think.  I remember when LSU got a second crack at Bama in the title game and even with the ESPN  hype machine I don't think the ratings were great.  People don't like rematch.

Plus screw the Big Ten...I have no conference loyalty especially when it comes to Michigan.

Probably would.  Outside of Williams at RB and Lachey at TE Cade won't have much to work with on offense.  The only hope for Iowa is that the offensive line improves substantially over this season.

Yes I know.. though their record was inflated by a mostly mediocre Big 12 and even Big 8 most years. They also used Prop 48 to get some "questionable" people in.

Iowa keeps losing players to the portal, now former four star recruit Jestin Jacobs is flying the coup literally.  He was injured for all but two games this past season and figured heavily in anchoring the linebacker corps next year.  This portal move has me a little confused on what is going on at Iowa.

I think though that this is the future of college football with players making moves for no reason or fault of programs.

Brewster makes sense since he was on his staff at Jackson St.  I could see Zimmer as a consultant, but not a full time coach.

Kind of weird that will all the above average linebackers Iowa has had over the years that Jack Campbell was the first Butkus award winner for the program.  Also to go with that he was awarded the William V. Campbell trophy on Tuesday for being college football's top scholar athlete.  He was the star on top of the only bright spot for Iowa football this year which was the defense.

Mike Leach was rushed to the hospital late yesterday afternoon with a medical emergency. I haven't seen any official reports about what the issue was but rumors floating were massive heart attack. Initial reports did not sound good.

I stumbled across this this morning and laughed hysterically. He is responsible for some of my favorite interview moments and this might be the best one. Godspeed Mike.

Damn Cyclown fans today...blah blah Brock Purdy blah blah.  ?   He couldn't beat the Hawkeyes in the three games he was a starter but somehow he is going to win the Super Bowl because he beat quite possibly the worst team that Tom Brady has ever been a part of.  ?

That would be a decent joke...but it would be spoiled on me to do that.  Everyone that knows me and my hatred of the Clones knows that I will burn any jersey, clothing item, or keepsake that even references the Clones or a player.  Some very good friends of mine are Clone fans and didn't believe me and tried to buy my daughter a t-shirt...my wife had to tell them I wasn't joking to get them to believe me.

Long story...I would burn the damn thing to ashes!

Sadly Mike died of complications from the heart attack.  Will go down as one of the all time characters in college football.

Sad to hear.  Unfortunately, there were news outlets reporting his death before he passed yesterday trying to be the first to report it.

I always thought it would be hilarious to get Mike Leach, Frank Serratore, and Bill Walton in a room together with a microphone.  All of those guys could talk and keep an audience and have no filter.

Alabama wins Sugar Bowl, During post-win, trophy receiving interview Saban makes several slams towards players who chose to transfer/opt out (although I think they all were transfers).  Then the interviewer/moderator piles on with similar comments.

I suppose one could have reasonable disagreements on this, but I do not think a national televised podium is a place to slam students/young adults that you have a massive power differential over.  Honestly, even with all his college-level and financial success he seems miserable. Sorry dude, but students have a right to transfer schools.

Pulling these stunts are probably the reasons that both Dante Culpepper and Zach Thomas wanted to fight him when he was with the Dolphins.
