The fake ID might be why, not sure if he was charged with 2 or 3 things like the article says as they only list 2 but mention 3. Either way this seems pretty minor in the grand scheme of things and I can't imagine he's facing a huge suspension for it.

That’s what Minneapolis cops usually do, but Lindsey got arrested in (small town?) Arkansas. Regardless I don’t think this is a big deal, if the alcohol is really all there is to this story.
Back in Fall 2019 I actually caught an MIP charge from a passing UMPD officer who gave me and my fraternity brother both the choice between hospital or drunk tank. Woke up in HCMC with a crumpled-up citation laying on my chest. We’d been in rough shape on the light rail at 2am, after a few (a lot) too many $1 drinks at Wild Greg’s downtown. Ended up getting off mostly scot-free thanks to Student Legal Services at the U.
It’s a nothingburger offense(s) in the grand scheme of things. Most sane DAs will be satisfied with a “no contest & sealed w/ future expungement” plea deal, which also lets one avoid being categorized as “guilty”.
Did have to disclose my MIP/incident when I was applying to law school, but it was really not a big deal there either and I got a good chuckle out of my statement that basically said “I stopped underage drinking after this incident happened” — it happened 2 months before my 21st bday. I kinda doubt that Drake Lindsey will be applying to law school.

I don’t know the specifics of Arkansas’ criminal laws, but one possibility is that he had 2 different fake IDs (main + a spare) on him, resulting in 2 separate fake ID charges. Prosecutors tend to file as many charges as they possibly can first, and then see which ones stick because it gives them way more leverage (at trial and in plea bargaining)

sometimes they just take it. Or they found it when he got booked, could’ve happened a lot of different ways. Not gonna tell a cop “no you can’t have it” if they spot it in your wallet right behind the real ID.

sounds like he was in a bar and the bouncer stuck the on site cop on him. Probably deciding whether or not he wanted to add lying to an officer and resisting/obstruction/fleeing to his list, especially when some of these bar cops and bouncers can be the type to go on an ego trip. Go to your court day, apologize, pay your fine and do your community service and move on

This. Probably got ID'd, bouncer/bartender thought it was a fake, and got a cop to verify/bust the kid. Kid was smart enough to not add to the situation.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

Well, 30 of the 38 victories came from 1900 to 1960. Then starting in 1963 to 2018, they lost 19 of 22 including not winning a game against them from 1963 to 2012. The Gophers now have won 6 in a row. This series seems to be one of streaks.

Gophers need to find a football state (FL, TX, CA, OH) and recruit exclusively from there. Minnesota is not a serious football state and never will be unless everyone suddenly decides to abandon hockey.
Not a fun trend that any sort of national TV game the last few years we crap the bed. Last year vs Iowa, Ohio St, and Oregon (all on the road) and this game.

I think they know that but getting the higher caliber players from those states to play in a cold state with a mediocre football tradition and more white people than average isn't the easiest sell. Especially in this current pay to win landscape where they're already going cheap on coordinators and whatnot.

I agree with the general sentiment insofar as I only really care about hockey (like on a deep personal level), but Miss State has always been a perennial SEC bottom-feeder while our record on paper for the last ~8 years has us squarely in the upper-middle B1G. The roster we have is far more competitive than whatever the hell we saw today.

Not a good game today. Going for a short pass on 3rd down, not even trying to make first down is absolutely bone headed play calling. And goal line stand, screen passes. Thats when I booed. Miss St QB is good, major upgrade from Lindsey. Lindsey did about 1/3 good passes today. Half would have been good, anything above 50% would be tremendous. Last week tv kept showing our DC, talked about how great he is! Defense was inept today. Not being able to tackle, leaving half the field empty so they can run around the open side for a huge gain, and our pass defense all were awful. Is there any team in the big 10 we will be able to compete with?
The team keeps getting worse and Fleck is signed until 2030.

I'm not really surprised at Iowa's number. Kirk runs his program as a development program filled with 3 stars mixed in with some 4 star recruits that you really shouldn't have to pay that much. Fans are not under some delusion that Iowa will make a Indiana type run at a natty but rather expect 8-10 win seasons every year. Give us that and beat Iowa State and we're happy. If you have a year like 2015 that is amazing but not expected.

Combined with the fact that the average salary for Gophers assistant coaches is near the bottom of the B1G and is it any wonder they remain a mid-level program?
