Should be a fun weekend. I looked into heading down, but the flight cost was through the roof, so I passed.
Definitely looking to sweep this one, the Gophers look to be much better across the board, but we all know that the team can't just assume they'll win, they need to go out and play hard.
Better questions: How long will OT go? Will Jup remember to eat dinner before going through a full bottle of wine on stream/OT?What will Jup say this year?

Very jealous. My wife and I really wanted to go, but just couldn't swing it. She's a retail manager, and it would be frowned upon if she were to miss Black Friday and Saturday. We were hoping the series would have been in early January, but looking at the flights, we probably would have had to pass because of the costs involved anyway. Have fun.

On the bucket list of going for a road trip... someday. That being said, I see the Gophers winning both this weekend as long as they are healthy. The freshmen have already seen the road environments, especially just coming back from Ann Arbor. It's over a Holiday weekend, so I assume the ASU students wont all be there. So, I see this a convincing 2 win weekend.

Flying out to Phoenix early Friday morning. The Wild play the Coyotes on Sunday at the X, so I'm expecting that game will be Arizona TV also.

For Samsung TV Plus (built-in on recent Samsung smart TVs), it's channel 1161.
It's also included in other streaming services too, but at worst you can watch it for free on Pac-12 Network's website.
Though don't expect the games to be in full 1080 HD. I've watched a couple of other live events (though not ASU hockey) and the stream seems to be at most 720. This is their free channel after all.

Listening to Bob’s coaches show and it sounds like we could potentially be out a couple of guys this weekend. However, if we’re at full strength at forward does anyone think we’ll see both Strobel and J. Mittlestadt start and Pino get scratched? I think number 13 has been fine but Strobel and John Mittlestadt really put their print on the game this past weekend. Personally I’d like to see more of 27 and 19. Especially if Mittlestadt can play well at center.

It sounds like that bug that was going around last week is still affecting a player or two. He didn’t go into any further detail regarding who it might be or anything else. I believe he said it was up in the air if the player currently feeling under the weather would make the trip down to Arizona.

Yep. He said 1 new player caught it this week. Says this bug is not just a 24 hr thing, and is lasting about 5 days.

A funny little moment was Wally asked about guys that signed their NLIs and then also accidentally asked about guys on the U17 NTDP team. Guys that have verbally committed but haven’t signed their NLIs. Obviously Bob can’t talk about those guys so he had steer Wally back on track. Literally said, “ope, nope. Can’t talk about those guys. Nope, they haven’t signed yet. Can’t say a word. I can just talk about guys that have signed. Got to get us back on track Wally” lol.
I know they talked about it during the BTN broadcast last week and Bob talked about it on his show, but the team, and the parents who are going to the series at ASU are going to go over to the Knies house for Thanksgiving. They better get a lot of food. I remember them doing this before at players homes, IIRC the Potulnys hosted once for sure.

Tempe has been great so far. We got to the airport at 5am so it’s been a looooong day. I feel like it should be midnight.
Spent some time at the rooftop pool, walked to a couple local breweries, and will probably top it off with a nightcap at the rooftop bar.
Our hotel is in the middle of campus and they have a main drag full of bars and restaurants. It’s insane all the places they have down here to party. I’m thankful it’s a holiday break week but I can only imagine the insanity down here on a nice weekend. Tempe is just east of the airport so it is pretty noisy about every five minutes. 😂

I lived there when that olive garden thing happened. You's think nobody ever had fettucine alfredo or strawberry lemonade before that. It was insane stupid. At that time just across the river East Grand Forks had a legit good italian place too.
For God's sake, Houghton celebrated getting an Applebee's before that. 😀 People are weird.

True. They had police to handle traffic control. Then once everyone had a chance to get their Krissy Keene donut and realized it is literally JUST a donut it was out of business in about a year.
I would like to make a joke but I shouldn’t talk. When Worthington got a new Hy-Vee about ten years ago it was the talk of the town for like two years. Mind you, we already had a Hy-Vee but this was the new Hy-Vee. It even had an a la carte and a little corner to sit and eat. Insert “oohs” and “aahs”. No joke you’d see someone out and about and within a minute of conversation you can bet your ass someone would ask, “so, have you been to the new Hy-Vee?”
That said, any chance to laugh at Grand Forks is much appreciated. The fact that someone called Taco Bell “ethnic food” is down right hilarious. His mind would probably explode if he tried Chipotle.

@the-rube I was a senior at MTU the year that Houghton finally got McDonald's to come to town; it was indeed a big deal. I still chuckle at that almost 40 years later.

IMO, it would be a bummer if the Gophs didn't come away with a sweep this weekend.
When I watched ASU earlier this year against Bemidji, they looked really average. Their goalie played well - bailed them out a few times and aside from the top line, no other lines looked as good. Doan & Mastrosimone stood out from the rest albeit most of their points came on the man adv. To be fair it was just their 4th game of the year so maybe I'm being too critical, lol.
Hopefully they take it to ASU. GO GOPHERS!

We just bought tickets for tonight's game. I finally found some for $70 each plus fees. Ticketmaster, of course, has listed this as the ASU vs the Minnesota Golphers. I guess we've changed our team name.
