It was tough to watch Matthew's miss his assignment covering McDavid lead to the OT goal. He had so many fantastic defensive plays over the previous four games. I would have liked to see the US win, but more than anything else I just missed watching best on best competition. I am looking forward to the Olympics and World Cup. The game needs these moments to grow.
Jaccob Slavin is my new favorite player in the league. My god is he good. The angles and stickwork he uses to play defense is a marvel. How it escaped my attention that he has won two Lady Byng trophies is beyond me.

Ovi has been a great ambassador of the game. Happy for him to get this one and break a record many thought never would be touched, especially given he played partly in an era where goal scoring was way down. his longevity and health have been pretty crazy to be able to do this. Don’t know if we’ll see anyone get close again. Have to average 45 goals a year for 20 years to get there which is just nutty if you put it in that context
To set the record in the exact same number of games, and against the same team is insane.
Also, he’s scored on (182?) different goalies before today, this was the first goal Sorokin has given up against Ovi.
