A team winning an elimination game with only 9 shots on goal is a great example of why I try not to get work up about sports and in particular hockey. When you can totally dominate a team and still lose it is best to learn to just shake your head and say thats hockey/sports (says the guy who posts under the name CollegeHockeyAddict but it shows who I was and for my own well-being have tried to mellow out about 🤣 ).

LaCombe got beat to the inside because he quit skating. Eichel pulled up after the ref barked out that there was no icing to pressure a turnover. Nobody to blame but himself. He's a tool, always has been all the way back to squirts.
He was gassed from playing a ton of minutes and the refs typically call that icing. As far as him being a tool I'm just gonna assume he gave your kid a wedgie in front of the entire team or something.

C’mon buddy. The guy has most likely grown a lot since age 10.
LaCombe wore a letter for the Gophs, wears a letter for the Ducks in his 3rd NHL season now, and has put them on his back for the entire playoffs. In the Qpac game, 3rd period alone he tanked like a dozen point-blank shots trying to hold onto that 2-1 lead, no hesitation putting his body on the line there. He’s been a fan favorite and class act with both us and the Ducks.

Lacombe took the time to hang out on the ice at mariucci with my then 10 year old. One of the coolest memories I have at marriucci and that’s saying something. All thanks to him. Class act. My now 19 yr old called me last night and talking about that ducks game, he was pretty quick to mention that time with him.

I’ve shared several times all the great things LaCombe did for my daughter over 4 years during his Jr and Sr.seasons. Now 8 and she still has all those memories. LaCombe is all class act in my book. And he’ll always be her #1 player.
I guy I know from a couple of hockey puck collector groups is huge Carolina Hurricanes fan. I asked if he ever met Jackson Blake and noticed his halitosis. He said he had, but didn’t noticed it. I follow by saying Jackson tries to control it, but his dad Jason is horrible…

had zero problem calling it a 5 and a game. Totally unnecessary hit with a guy completely not protecting himself. Would be the same if you just crushed someone center ice without the puck. you don't get grace just because it's along the boards.

He doesn't get supplemental imo (no head contact, no leaping, etc), though i'm going to guess Poehling is done. Don't think was done with malicious intent, but it's how the rule is written is that can be 5 and a game if results in clear injury (which was pretty obvious).
I always find it interesting and funny when the bench or even the player doesn’t protest much but fans on social media go berserks over the call.

Being saddled with Trouba as his D partner likely doesn’t help either. But LaCombe’s own attention to detail seemed to crater at a lot of critical moments, all series long. Guessing that fatigue and the playoff spotlight started to wear on him.
Could also be an issue of poor deployment/matchups in that Vegas series. I’m sure he’ll bounce back quickly
