I am by no means a basketball expert. I have seen the same situation twice today. Team down by 5 with 40 seconds left and has to play defense. They let the other team tick off 10 seconds before fouling. Then they’re down 7 with 30 seconds left. Admittedly the odds are slim, but still extend the game as much as you can. It’s almost as if the players have to look at the coach to tell them what to do.

What a come back by the Houston Cougars to beat Duke and advance to the Championship game!!!
Down 14 points (56-42) in the second half they end the game on a 28-11 run to win 70-67.
They where down 7 (66-59) with less than 1:20 left but go on a 11-1 run over the last 1:14.
Duke losing last night was classic. And reading the social media comments from Duke fans is even better. Plus I have Houston winning it in my pool.

On paper it should be a very good game tonight. Personally it comes down to Houston’s defense preventing Florida going on 90 second runs where they score 6-10 points a run. Florida is favored by -1, was -1.5 after Saturday’s games The o/u is 140. Excluding a blowout and garbage time points. Under 140 Houston wins, over 140 Florida wins. I’m taking Houston wins and the under.
Looking at my group pool, I taking second place, even if Houston wins tonight. One of my sister-in-laws is going to win. She lives in Atlanta and picked all SEC teams to win. She picked Florida to win. Along with all SEC teams in the Final 4. Reminds me of a friend of mine gf at the time, now wife. Back in college or shortly after. She picked the winners by mascots and won our pool!!! \

Kelvin Sampson is the Bob Motzko of college basketball. Tremendous coach with very good, contending teams… and comes up short. And probably has the same kind of fans who wants him fired, but can’t name a replacement.

I was having a career day yesterday with hitting all my covers and even to wins. Until UNC rolled over and BYU lost to Texas. The High Point to cover and win was extra sweet especially vs. WisconSIN.

Hometown small market radio is the best for the passion and love of the school. I still remember my junior year in high school when we won State in basketball. State semifinals beating the #3 team in the state in the very last second and hearing the replay on the radio was pure awesome.
Just read legendary Gophers Basketball coach, Tubby Smith went to High Point (69-73).

Half court buzzer shot to tie the game has been my biggest bust. Had lots of faith in Santa Clara beating Kentucky.

Agree on the 8/9. It’s not an upset if the 9 wins. Both the 8 and 9 were favored from -1.5 to -2.5. So pretty much a pick’em. All 4 9 seed won over the 8.
I suppose technically a 9 seed winning is an "upset"
Having said that, historically, 9 seeds win 52% of the time, so, based on past results, they should kind of be the favorites.
There’s always something about any of tke original Big East going deep into March Madness.

Iowa makes the Elite 8 for the first time since my all time favorite Iowa team did it back in 1987. Three of my all time favorite players in Iowa history played on that team; B.J. Armstrong, Roy Marble, and Ed Horton...they were so damn good. It is absolutely remarkable that Ben McCollum has this Iowa team rolling with a roster bolstered by six transfers from Drake that followed him. I watched the first half of this game and thought it would be a close game for Nebraska to win since Iowa kept letting them shoot the three uncontested. Things changed obviously when it sounds like Iowa ended up taking over the game at the end. GO HAWKS!!
