Finland was trailing 3-0 to CZE in the 3rd scored the tying goal with 1:30 left in game then scores the winning goal in OT for bronze!
Aloha!
USA wins Gold over Canada at World Championships in OT. Heise with GWG assist.

Love the win, but 3x3 in a gold medal game is lame.
Heise does it again. OT winner to clinch a spot in the finals.
The Frost have two of the three “defender of the year” finalists.
Frost need to win again. I feel like this expansion draft will dismantle the existing teams and the 2 new teams will be the ones to beat for a while. Not sure i have a better option to put forward but it could be a rough year next year.
Let's go Frost!
Initially protecting only 3 players is crazy. They are basically saying all inaugural teams will lose 2 of their of their top 5 players, and potentially 5 of their top 9. That is ridiculous. It should be at MINIMUM 3 forwards, 2 defense and a goalie. Or protect 3, expansion teams get 1 pick, then protect the other 3. 2 of the top 5 is beyond punishing.
Sounds to the levels of Vegas and Seattle expansion drafts. Make expansion team immediately competitive with no growing pains. This is why Vegas fans drive me nuts. They don't know how good of a expansion draft they got compared to Minnesota, Columbus, Nashville, Atlanta and so on... I think teams learned from the Vegas expansion draft and made it harder on Seattle.

Frost lose game 1 in OT after a bad turnover by #14.

Another OT game. Frost score to tie it with under 20 seconds left in the 3rd. 1-1
I normally don't complain about announcers, but these 2 seem a bit biased towards Ottawa.

Curl wins it in OT for the Frost. Scored both goals tonight. Series tied at 1-1

What kind of crowd was at the ‘X’ for the game?
Keep your stick on the ice...
I think they said it was about 8100. Only the lower bowl is open, I believe.
Twins and Wolves at home, plus, we have to admit, fair or not, it's women's hockey. Plus, holiday weekend (cabins and such)
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
And the Loons and the Aurora as well.

At $60 a pop…
The only reason I knew… @viking posted on fb be was at the Loons game. And when I picking up dinner at Carbone’s, I ran into @skiier32 and I’m pretty sure he told me one of his son’s was helping with parking for the Aurora. Ask him what his other son was doing… lol!!!

Their average attendance this year is around 6500, so with everything else going on 8100 is actually pretty impressive.

Leave it to @karlsson to break down some facts. 😉

The Ottawa Charge ran out of energy in the 3rd overtime with the Minnesota Frost freezing them out.
It feels like Stecklein is always in the ice.
@karlsson The frost are looking hungry to close this one out today. Go frost!
Minnesota Women's Professional teams continue to kick butt!!!!

Crazy to see all 4 games went 2-1 OT.

Woohoo!
I don't understand. I thought this was a no-checking league. Seemed like every game there were what I would call checks thrown. What exactly constitutes a check in this league? Or was it just like NHL where refs let a lot of crap go rather than make a call someone might complain about?
But yeah, fun to watch another championship. It seems like newer MN Women's teams avoid the MN sports curse, at least early in their histories. Gopher women hockey wins handfull of NC's early. Lynx wins a number early (I don't follow B-ball at all so no idea how many, just vaguely aware). And now Frost with first two Championships. Curious to see if the curse just takes longer to settle in with new teams, or if the curse is whatever is the opposite of misogynistic.

I wouldn't consider the Lynx's run of WNBA championships (4 in 7 years - 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017) early in their existence. Their first year in the league was 1999, and they didn't win their first championship until 2011.

Limited checking is allowed.

Well like I said, don't follow b-ball. So maybe I wasn't aware of the WNBA until Lynx started winning and local stations started really talking about them (especially since there were no men's teams winning, or even contending for, championships) so it seemed early.
So maybe MN women's teams are immune to the the curse in general. Not that it gives me much solace when Gophers have had such a long drought and and Wild setting records for most first round exits. Not to mention a lifetime of watching Vikings. (Yeah, there were those two Twins wins, but I wasn't really a baseball fan prior to that and still am only vaguely paying attention and only when they are doing really well. Not like Pohlad's are doing best to try to win WS again.)
So with the Frost and the Lynx who have won Multiple championships the Wild and Timberpuppies are falling behind winning championships 😱 and we can throw in The North Stars who never won the cup while in Minnesota
Aloha!
Are U trying to be glib gopher6? Happy for the Frost…beyond that go f-ck yourself, not in the mood for this horseshit (today)So with the Frost and the Lynx who have won Multiple championships the Wild and Timberpuppies are falling behind winning championships 😱
Don’t forget the Whitecaps, they won a couple championships too I believe. So the women have really been killing it for a while.

I will admit that sometimes he may post some off the wall stuff, but I really don't see anything but factual info in that post. Maybe, he was just being sarcastic, IDK. I do recall after Duluth won a couple of titles, you would insert that fact in EVERY thread under the sun. It could have been a thread about a TV show, and somehow you found a way to bring it up. You should just give him a pass on this one, like many on here did the same to you.

@frozen4champs Point taken. But if you’re not frustrated by what’s been happening since October 1991, then clearly you’re a more understanding person than me! And my Alma Mater has been so hideous during the last 3 years, I feel I’ve been adequately punished for my occasional indiscretions (since 2019). But maybe not…😁
Frost appear to protect Heise and Stecklein.
(But also Kendall Coyne-Schofield) 🙄
That means Zumwinkle, Pannek, Cava, Rooney and a bunch others are exposed.

i get you want the other teams to be competitive right away, but man that also is tough on a fan base who may lose multiple big time players right as the league is getting going
Not a shock, as I believe Thompson has a prior connection with either the coach or GM.
Edit-- Jaques is also gone.

Woof. Good thing they won when they did. Losing both of them is rough but pretty much guaranteed when they didn’t protect either.
Britta Curl is the next protected player by the Frost

The new Expansion Draft rules is BS. It started with Vegas, followed by Seattle and now in the PWHL. What happened to the growing pains of entering a league. Growing pains like most every other team had to go through. San Jose, Ottawa, Tampa Bay, Florida, Anaheim, Nashville, Atlanta, Columbus and Minnesota, all had to have their growing pains since the league went from 21 to 30 since 1991.
It’s like these leagues want to make the recent expansion teams immediately competitive at the expense of the others and their building of teams.
Keep your stick on the ice...
I may not agree how the PWHL is doing this, but I can see what they are trying to do. They are trying to build a viable women's league with 8 teams that are somewhat equal. Because the past women's hockey leagues have failed, they need to take their time and be very strategic in expansion. They have limited budgets, so they need each team to draw fans and create revenue. The main reason Seattle and Vancouver came in together is now when a team goes west they can play both of them to save on travel expenses. They also have to struggle with the breaks for international tournaments that make them stop their league in the middle of their season and cuts into the amount of league games they play. I wish them well.
