The old joke was, that's the sound you made after a night of drinking it.
You can add… bar hopped all night, got home at 6am, slept for 15 mins and go to work in the same clothes from the night before with your hand stamp.
I honestly didn't even know they still made it.
It had become one of my favorite things about going to Deadwood, SD. Madame Peacock's carried it for $2 a bottle. Going to be there in just under a month and I heard they're sitting on about 170 cases as of last week. Here's to hoping there's at least one bottle left when we get there.

I would think you're still good on that. Guessing there will be a couple cases left at the BARE minimum, even with tourist season.

I had heard grumblings of this happening this winter. Mad Butcher had quite a following here in Mankato and people were sad with Mankato Brewery shuttered in January 2025. Schell's has dipped their toes into the IPA world in recent so getting the MB recipe is a good move by them to get a well known and well liked IPA.

Personally I thought Leaf Racker was Mankato’s best beer.
Mankato Brewery just never embraced the lager/porter/stout side, where my beer tastes used to reside, too much so I never sought out their beer. I didn't mind Leaf Raker but my favorite was an early beer of theirs when they put out limited amount under the Center Street Series label. #3 of that series was a dark lager I believe which I did get several growler fills of while it was available.

The place I vacation at in the UP has a BUNCH of Revolution VSO special releases, 8-10 kegs, holy hannah. Big boy stouts and barleywines. I am (well, at this point was, 'tis my last night here) a happy camper. They had the milk stout and the barleywine on tap this weekend.
They also have Malort and BA Malort. Tried the latter for science. Yes, its reputation is warranted. (Then again, the whiskeys made up for that experiment).

I'm happy to report that we were able to treat ourselves to several rounds while down in Deadwood this past weekend. They had about 30 cases according to the bartender when we arrived.
Two opposite ends of the spectrum for beer products between a Morgan Wallen concert vs. an Usher/Chris Brown concert. Though the amounts of flesh and who can wear the least amount of clothing is pretty much the same.
Firehouse Brewing Co. (Rapid City, SD) has quite the advertising along 90 in South Dakota. Several billboards and many of them had a fire engine as well.
Got a bunch of M43 from Old Nation (hazy IPA, top notch) and B Necktar Orange Dreamsicle Mead, which is amazing on a warm day. I am happy.

Firehouse UP here is a very different beast. 😂🌿
you may need to share a can of that tonight…
Gopher Nation:
If you have the opportunity, try to make it to opening weekend this year in the UP and come explore the awesomeness that is the Keweenaw. You will not leave disappointed. 😃

it’s been on our list! Hopefully the smoke has well faded by then across the northern part of the country
Blackstack released their 8th Anniv beer, a QUAD HAZY IPA "We Already Ate". 12%. And 12oz cans, which is/was quite a shock to BS fans. Shorts? Really?! 😉
It's quite good.

WHOA! Did The Rube say a super hoppy beer was "quite good"?!?! haha.
I was surprised at the price point honestly. A 4 pack of 12oz cans at my store was "only" $20.00 So I bought a 4 pack last weekend and shared it with some friends. I agree, it was quite good. Went back to buy another 4 pack earlier this week and it was all gone.
I like hazies. And as far as pricing goes, when you do double, triple, and quad IPAs, each level goes up in price, similar to a regular stout versus a barrel-aged version of the same stout.

Lake Monster closing, Barrel Theory moving in.

That's too bad, my wife and I liked Lake Monster. I read in one article that the sale included the recipes, so hopefully BT keeps some of Lake Monster's beers on tap. I know it borders on sacrilege around here to disparage BT, but if you're not a fan of stouts or hazy IPAs, there isn't much on their tap list to get excited about. Seriously, FOUR hazy IPAs (plus a hazy double IPA), and the only thing resembling a lighter beer is a Czech pilsner?
EDIT: Also, I hope they keep the taproom dog friendly. Too many places now that are closing the taproom to four-legged companions.

BT is rather one-dimensional, my only knock on them. I was not a fan of LM's beers, but that space is wonderful. Maybe with additional space, they can expand their offerings. And yes, as they said, it was the worst-kept secret what was going on with LM/BT. 😉
They are hoping for an October Grand Opening (at least a soft opening).
Waconia Brewing is still waiting to announce a re-opening date, the paperwork/licensing/etc is what is holding the new owners up. I think they underestimated THAT part of acquiring the business.

I did love Lake Monster's Last Fathom dunkel--it was really, really well done... But alas...
Since I'm already commenting, just a recommendation if anyone is in the Savannah, GA area: Two Tides Brewing Company is EXCELLENT.
Sweetwater out of Georgia is decent.

One website’s opinion on the best brewery in each state. I’ve never heard of their MN selection (Three Twenty in Pine City) https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/usa/best-breweries-every-state-usa

I went there maybe 8 or 10 years ago. Neat little space, can’t say remember what I tied there. 🤷♀️
The other one on that list I’ve been to is New Terrain in Golden CO. I really enjoyed that one. Cool space and had lots on the menu for people like me (I’m a fruit sour and seltzer kinda gal). 😉

Have you been to Weldwerks in Colorado? If so, which was better?
Weldwerks is OG gold for hazy. Juicy Bits and the variants are ones I really really love.
Bristol Brewing's Laughing Lab Scottish Ale is outstanding, and they have (had?) a cool space. Have not been there in years, but I have some mules bring me back some of their beer.

Have not been to Weldwerks. We were mainly in Denver area and Golden.

LTD Brewing (and half a dozen other breweries) had their Oktoberfest yesterday, and of course had a Festbier and an Marzen.
Loved the Marzen, and was told that the Fest was even better. I hate to admit it, but that was indeed a fact. For my palate, that's a rarity. This year's batch of Fest used a different yeast (straight from the owners' mouths) and that was the key.
