Someone mentioned, I think on the Kato thread, that the series against North Dakota could be #2 Minnesota vs #3 North Dakota. It doesn’t really matter too much but out of curiosity, is there any chance that those rankings could shift slightly since we’re on a bye this weekend?
Also, according to the Gopher athletics website there are only 387 tickets left for the Saturday night game against NoDak. Let’s hope most of the tickets were bought up by gopher fans.

Is it too much to ask for a two game soul crushing annihilation of the green team? I know its early and there would be a lot of hockey left before the ultimate goal, but man would that feel good.

Ours won’t. Theirs could.
It doesn't really matter and it's possible UM and UND swap places, but no team is going to jump from #4 or lower past the Gophers.

They host #8 Quinnipiac this weekend, so they definitely could move up or down depending on the results including flipping 2/3 with us.
#4 UMD plays at #5 Mankato so there is potential moving there as well depending on the results.
Yeah but I doubt they’ll move a team who didn’t play. At the end of the day the polls don’t matter at all. Although I’ll be the first to admit I’m kind of a poll geek.

As of Thursday (10/13/2022) morning, 212 tickets remain for Saturday.
EDIT: now website says 261? either way, it should sell out. Hoping the same for Friday.
Thinking this is good sign for Gopher fans showing up. UND fans probably bought of their tickets, when the tickets came available. Gopher fans are probably the ones buying them up as the date gets closer.
I don’t know, it’s exciting. Plus, as was already mentioned, there is no mens hockey this weekend. Might go to the women’s game against Mankato tomorrow to get my gopher hockey fix.

If you have the time, count ticket sales as frequently as you want. I'm here for it.
I think there will be a strong UND fan presence. They live local and likely purchased when single seats went on sale. They have no issue paying the $150/ticket to see their team play in Las Vegas.
Maybe someone knows---My son bought me tickets for the Wild game in Boston next Saturday and we are looking for a bar which might have the Gopher game(s) on.

I'm sure Coach Motzko already knows this, but North Dakota plays the same style they've always played. SCREEN the goalie, SHOOT and CRASH the net. They are the poster team for garbage goals.
Alright, we’re back! Hopefully everyone got rested and healthy over the bye week. Let’s get back to what matters most. The football team let us down and apparently the Wild are in shambles. Time for Gopher hockey to show up and make a statement. The Wild only play Saturday at noon, gopher football will be away getting trounced in Happy Valley and the Vikes have a bye week. We are basically the only show in town. Need a split at the minimum but I would love to soundly sweep these guys. Including having one game be a solid beat down. Let’s hope the boys will be ready for an intense series against what will probably a pissed off North Dakota team after their weekend against Quinnipiac.
GE and I sat through the entire trouncing when we lost 3-9 against North Dakota over Thanksgiving Weekend in 2019.. Looking forward to some retribution against a fast, skilled north/south team. Should be a fun weekend to make some good memories against a hated rival.. like the photo below!

They took a step in the right direction against Mankato and I expect much of the same this weekend. I think Kurth and/or Lamb bag a goal or two this weekend. Also speaking of freshman, I know it’s been mentioned already but 19 is a total pest and I absolutely love it. The kid has a motor and doesn’t give up on the puck.
