Alright boys, remember Michigan is the enemy. Not fellow Gopher fans.
We ALWAYS were!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice to see Huglen get that PP goal but his line 5x5 needs to get their act together.
[edit] And I think they were on the ice for UMi's 4th goal.
guys in gold look like they’re stuck in cement out there
Michigan’s coach is a douche!!
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Oof, well uphill climb in the 3rd
So you can lower your head so any player checking you automatically hits your head and get a 5 minute power play?
We all know what happened last time mich went into the 3rd leading..
Soft call? Yeah probably. But we’ve had softer calls go our way. Besides, we know that any contact to the head is going to be serious.
Huge 5 minute penalty kill where the Gophers out shot and out chanced Michigan while short a man.
Losing Snuggy for the game is a big loss though.
Time for Kurth taking Snuggy's spot to score.
The low angle shots are killing me. Success last night seems to have led to bad habits.
Horrible call
Huglen needs to pass the effing puck - especially when you have an open look to a teammate.
Brodzinski!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BRYCE!!!!!
What a play by Cooley
I'm too old for this sh*. 😉

I may have a heart attack.
Dammit.
Why the stick salute? Stop doing it when you didn’t sweep.
Nelson lost track of his guy.
A split and a sweep against the ugly helmets. 9/12 points. Yeah I’ll take that.
For those keeping track we are now 3-3-1 in OT this year. What a crazy season.
Can't win them all. Two very talented teams this weekend. It would have been nice to get a sweep. Most likely these will be the 2 teams in the B1G tournament championship again with of course another sold out Mariucci. Go Gophers!
It is unfortunate to give up those points but Michigan is a good team despite their record. A split is respectable.
Next up...
Love the farm kid, but maybe he’s not ideal for 3 on 3. ?
This team is resilient that’s for sure. Credit to the boys for snatching another late goal to at least get something. A tough series against a talented team.
An entertaining weekend, two compelling games, two fun teams to watch motor on the Oly ice sheet! A likely rematch in the BIG tournament.

I wanted to see a quick change there and Faber got beat to the outside on the GWG.
What happened to Snuggerud tonight? Didn't see him in 3rd period
3 splits this weekend in B1G play so no one gained on anybody. Sums up the conference this year.

I think Bob was trying to matchup The Farm Kid with Fantilli. He then could get Cooley and Knies against someone else. It worked last night, but not so much tonight. Pitlick wanted to change and was indecisive on that shift as well. As Bob said on the radio, once the Michigan guy came off the bench, he knew it was over.

I thought the team had good energy for a good chunk of the game but at times we were really careless with the puck. Some of the goals we gave up were so sloppy. We really have to clean that stuff up. I know that when we play Michigan it’s really back and forth but I’m disappointed that we didn’t have a lot of consistent time in our offensive zone to set something up get something going. Give Michigan credit, I thought they had a really good forecheck and really pressured our defensemen.
I was at the game and did not have very good look at either, plus they did not show on replay, but were the majors they called on the Gophers the right call?
Very fun weekend of hockey. The Gophers were sloppy, but they skated hard.
Staying at #1 in the pairwise is good news and a good consolation to the OT loss.
It was announced that it was the largest attendance for a 2 game series in Mariucci history. More than any WCHA series... B1GMISTAKE?

You knew Michigan was gonna come out with a push. Gophers were super duper sloppy all night and missed Mittelstadt’s calming presence imo. I have no doubt they’ll clean it up for Sparty.
Speaking of Mittelstadt, John was EXCELLENT all weekend. Just a workhorse.

It's alright; this clash goes back a ways before you joined.
But you're right; walking away.

I didn't think the Jimmy Snuggerud penalty was the right call. His head basically was down and hit his elbow. Totally unintentional and didnt merit a disqualification.
I thought Pitlick had a rough game out there. Way too many easy turnovers.
Cant win em all.

MI had the short change and it looked like we started to change too and then realized we couldn’t but lost our coverage for just long enough to get burned.
Was great to get back to Mecca, fun game but deflating OT. Cooley’s set up on the tying goal was awesome, seemed like MI thought it was gonna be icing for a second and then realized Cooley was way ahead of everyone. Great job by LaCombe to get it to him, he is that clutch player who always makes a vital play at the end of games.
