Honestly probably the best first round matchup they could’ve had. Doesn’t mean they’ll win but Penn St is pretty careless defensively and takes a ton of penalties. If Luca is dialed we certainly have a chance. Need Lamb back bad.

PSU has given up 48 goals in those last 10 games. Goalies have been bad lately. Need to put pucks on net and stay out of the box.
I’ll be curious to see who starts in net for them. Fleming was terrible Friday and Reidler got pulled Saturday. Definitely a game that should be there to be had if we play like we did on Friday
I would love to see the Gophers win the next 3. The Whioux working so hard to get the #1 overall and then have to play the Gophers in the first round.

The one game format suits us and maybe we can steal a few games here. I have zero expectations but hopeful for some success this week.

we’ve played really numerically low high danger event games with them. Probably going to be dictated by which goalie comes up with the saves and which doesn’t unless one of the two forward groups just doesn’t show up

i agree, I feel like they’re gonna come out loose and give it everything the rest of the way and play gritty. The tighter we keep the score the more nervous PSU gets and the crowd stays quiet. We have the goalie it takes to make a run and that can add to their frustration and our guys can feed off of it. Nothing to lose at this point mentality.

With the series out in Pegula, Luca was locked in on Friday but team didn’t show up leading to a 3-0 L. On Saturday the team showed up but Airey spotted them 3 goals in the first, including some sketchy ones.
If we get the combination of Luca with a motivated team this game is up for grabs.

Bob has been playing the long game prepping for this game. If we get ahead by a goal or two, he already had the seniors practice the shell and the 0 - 5 forecheck in the playoffs in 2023 so they should have experience trying to hold the lead.
