This penalty kill is just mind numbingly bad. Miller that’s one YOU. The so-called PK genius has two forwards chasing the puck up high. It boggles the mind. A monkey could coach a better PK.
setup was effective for countering OSU’s 2-1-2 formation. failure was in execution. Sticks seem to go limp on the PK

That sequence leading to the goal-against is on Lamb. Hit the damn net. If you don’t have an opening to score then shoot for a rebound. Hitting the glass like that is just a turnover (or worse) every time it happens.

Not a strong game by Airey. Defense had lapses. Refs were atrocious and Ohio State took advantage of the refs incompetence and gooned it up and got away with it. Rest up over Christmas Break and come back rested and refocused! Go Gophs!
Osu got a LOT of lucky breaks. We battled hard so I disagree that we wouldn’t have deserved a win.
Disappointing end to a rollercoaster first-half, but I’m more or less OK with this weekend. But we’ll definitely need to make up for these lost points when we face Michigan/State/Wisconsin/PSU. The fatigue was noticeable and it annoys me that we got saddled with such a quick turnaround from Denver.
Gonna watch Michigan vs. Sparty now and see what’s next for us.

Agreed. But at least we got Motzkos family friend Max Rud some ice time. And he gave Airey a start for zero reason at all.

I think our most plausible road to an at-large bid will require us to sweep PSU @ Pegula, split or sweep Wisconsin, and go 4-0 vs. ND and OSU when we rematch. That would be standard fare for the Gopher teams of the previous five years but now it definitely seems daunting.
