7 Brew Coffee opened in Apple Valley yesterday. I drove past it at 3 PM heading to church today. The line has to be close to 100 cars waiting. There’s signs and AVPD directing traffic. They expect traffic congestions through July 5th.
Actually, got up went in sat in line at 7 Brew Coffee. Normally I'm not one to sit in line, just to try something. Though I was waiting for Sport Clips to open at 10 and I said to myself "why not". The line was about 40 minutes. They have a staff of about 20 or more taking orders and filling orders. I know for a fact that the city of Apple Valley has stepped in and told 7 Brew to run a tight ship with their lines. There are signs all over telling people where to go for 7 Brew and where to go for the other businesses near 7 Brew. And from my view, it's done pretty orderly. I asked the girl taking my order have people been nice. She said yes, but several have been rude about the wait. I don't get it... you get in line and complain when you know full and well it's a new coffee shop that everyone wants to try.
As for the coffee, it's good, not great. Would I go back, sure. Just not when the line is 40 minutes long or my wife tells me she has a craving for a coffee... lol!!!
Saw 7 brew a couple times while i was on the road doing my national park tour. Don't really get the hype/excitement, but then again the whole coffee business has exploded into oversized sugar based drinks with minimal "coffee" that are insanely expensive with excellent margins. I'll stick with my espresso or americano at home
Not directed at anyone in particular, just a general observation... But it amazes me people will drop $7 or so on a cup of coffee per day and then complain about the cost of B1G+ for the year ($50 with early bird discount) to watch the Gophers... It is all about choices..

same as when I used to vend beer and Cole while at the Metrodome. I had a guy come up and buy two beers from me at $7 each. Then his kid asked for a Coke and the vendor standing right next to me said Coke’s are $5 and the dad said I ain’t paying $5 for a Coke… lol!!!
Cheesecake Funk (Excelsior MN) is absolutely phenomenal. I'm generally not a sweet tooth, outside of cheesecake and key lime pie, so I am also very much a critic and finicky when it comes to those two desserts. This stuff is insanely good. She used to cook for Prince, because HE liked it so much. I cannot recommend it enough.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Wing Stop has the best Ranch for dipping. They could market their Ranch and it would sell. Their Ranch would go good on anything. Their Blue Cheese is really good and their new sauce, the Chamoy Ranch, a sweet heat style of Ranch is also pretty good.

From the youtube vids/etc I'm seeing, I think all the World Cup fans are gonna buy us outta ranch. 😉 I'm only sorta kidding.

Beat me to it😂
Herb and arrow in wabasha, great non fried food, had a flatbread that was like a veggie thing, really great! (Kinda copied the recipe and gf makes it at home now😂) great peanut butter bulldog drink I had to try! (3 actually 😁)Always just have them with vodka and coke but the peanut butter whiskey with rootbeer instead had us running to the liquor store the next day. Sampled goat cheese for the first time and have that in the fridge now too.😁 Great vibe, outside seating available but not sure if they full serve out there, it was a quiet Friday afternoon and just sat out with drinks after eating inside. A new favorite place for us sorta close to home.
“Good pace, a lot of north and south, or it could be east and west, I’m not sure but either way…” Wooger
No… lol!!! Just a list of all the chicken restaurants.
If I had to rank them:
Wing Stop
Popeye’s
Dave’s Hot Chicken
Caines
Chick-fil-a
BW3’s
KFC
move Canes to the bottom, bland and overrated.
Yeah I wouldn't spend my money on Caines, it's like they designed a fast food joint for people that have the pallet of a five year old. Never had Dave's so curious how that is, gotta imagine it isn't better than Nashville Coop. Also never had Wing Stop though if I want wings I'll prob just go to Ray-J's.

Some of my happiest memories were parking in the Oak Streat ramp for hockey games, and getting Cane's after the game. Or getting it after a game when I lived at Stadium View. I love it and have never left a Cane's disappointed with my decision.
We went to The Broaster the other day for lunch. It's a Ma and Pa place in Bird Island. There was a sign on the door "Closing at 1pm today." The staff consisted of a teenage girl at the counter and a middle aged man in the kitchen. When we got our food about 12:30 we were the last people in the restaurant. The cook came out front and said to us "I'm going to give my employee a ride home. If anyone comes in tell them we're closed." We finished eating, then just sat there because it didn't feel right leaving the place empty. When the cook came back we left.

Yeah I'm not trying to be judgmental about what other people like, I just find Cane's to be pretty bland. Makes me think of my one buddy when we went out to brunch in San Diego, I got a breakfast burrito that was pretty tasty, others got huevos rancheros or what have you, there were some solid options. He got chicken fingers and we all made fun of him 😆 (though that's more because we know him and his quirks)

Junior + senior year I lived on top of the raising canes in dinky (that dome building). So the canes box combo, "everything extra crispy, sub slaw for toast" was probably my single most frequent meal in college.
It kinda ruined me, the smell of their chicken fingers makes me a bit queasy now. We (4 degen frat guys) hosted a lot, which meant that every Sunday after a home football game, the apt was always littered with bunches of sauce cups that were half-full of congealed canes sauce- it's insane how repulsive the sauce becomes after sitting out open for too long.
Funny thing is I didn't even put on weight in those 2 years, always had a small appetite and a super fast metabolism.
Yeah IDK exactly what the sauce is but it's like mayo and something red lol, not surprising 😀
also had to look up the Corey Cove thing but yeah apparently 😀
Canes sauce is mayo based. There’s plenty of mock recipes online. Haven’t tried them, but they seem pretty easy enough.
yeah i vaguely recall that its like 75% mayo, some ketchup, garlic, pepper, and the key ingredient is Worcestershire sauce which gives it that smoky umami flavor
My favorite Pizza shop has not been open in Minnesota for a long time it was called MY PI pizza it was located in Golden Valley MN. It had a great deep dish pizza. When I was growing up one of my friends was a cook there he made such a good pizza
Mo Bettahs, Hawaiian style food in Burnsville looks and sounds really good. The Burnsville location officially opens today. The Maple Grove location tbd.
Drove past Mo Bettahs while running some errands with the wife. At around 8pm the line was out the door and wrapped halfway around the building… lol!!!

They had a BOGO deal last night on their Regular Size Lunch Plates (choice of 2 meats, rice and mac salad). I did go and the food was pretty good.
Drove past Mo Bettahs and the line was only in the building. Got in line and waited 20 minutes. Got a bit of everything
Teri Steak (My least favorite)
Kalua Pork (The best of the 5)
Chicken Katsu (Really good)
Teri Chicken (Good)
Pulehu Chicken (Probably my 2nd favorite)
The mix vegetables were good and the mac salad was really good. The spicy mayo is off the charts. I hope you can buy that stuff in the bottle. Really good reheated the next as well. Definitely going back… want to try their egg rolls.
Chicken Salad Chick opened in Apple Valley today. The line starts at the door and runs all the way down the front of the building and all th the to BW3s, the side and back of the building. Supposedly first 100 people get a free sandwich for 12 months for a year.
I was pushing over 250lbs on June 1st and got down to 229lbs on June 31st. Now I’m hovering around 234lbs… Though this is very tempting for a night or two of chicken wings… A night of Carolina Gold BBQ & Jamacain Jerk BBQ. And a night of naked wings and Hot Honey Mustard for dipping.
