The Cajun pasta with chicken and andouille at the Carbone’s in Lakeville is hands down the best pasta dish around. I’m pretty sure it’s not at every Carbone’s, cause I accidentally called another Carbone’s thinking it was Lakeville, and they had no clue what I was talking about on the phone.

The Red Chimichurri salsa at Chipotle is off the charts good. Not only good on burrito bowls, but good on homemade nachos and pizza. It comes on the side at Chipotle, so extra was well used!!!
Went to Feast Buffet in Woodbury. Definitely and one and done type place for me. It’s WAY overrated from all the social media adds and feedback I’ve seen and read. Not the worst buffet I’ve ever been to, but not a top 10.
Hands down the 2 best buffets I’ve ever been to… Aria in Vegas and Tusker House at Animal Kingdom (Disney World).
The Bay Street Burger Dive continues to be one of the best burgers around. Fantastic.

Nearly half these are based in China, which makes sense. Though the ones based in the States are interesting. Some of those must be big outside of Minnesota and must be big internationally.

Equally good but far different experiences. Marma is modern, hip, and the menu is adventurous.

I really looking forward to Monday when my next order arrives… Smoked Rainbow Trout, Smoked Salmon and Smoked Mackerel…
Fishwife is good stuff. I also like Jose Gourmet and Alalunga. Spendy but delicious.
Fishwife was good... The mackerel was hands down the best. It had some heat to it, with the chili flakes. The smoked rainbow trout was good for trout. I'm just not a trout fan, fresh or smoked. I think Conn Smythe (our cat) loved liking out the tin more than anything. The smoked salmon is decent. I've had better smoked salmon that I can get locally. I'll defiantly be buying the mackerel again, and I'll find a couple more flavors. Though it is spendy and I might look for other brands as well.

Thanks, I'll have to give it a try some time, though I usually don't make it to a place until it is no longer hip. I'm guessing Marma would not have sunnies on the menu.
Blois Olson works for WCCO radio and every year he puts out his official list of the best pizza in Minnesota.
Here is this years’s list
#9 for the win, the pizza I was weened on and still my benchmark.

Ha, my in-laws owned this place back in the day. I had many a meal there in the late 80s. When the Pizza Hut opened across the street, they lost a lot of traffic.
In a weird kind of way, as Woodbury kept growing and more places moved in, sales went down instead of up.

Great pizza.
Cool! We moved into Woodbury in 1974, I was in 2nd grade and we lived maybe a mile from Ronally's so it's been a staple for me for a long time. They still had the little bridge and stream when I first went. Heck, one of my first solos after getting my license was to pick up a pie there! There was a sporting good store in the same mall I worked at part time from 1985 into the early 90s so between Yang's and Ronally's i didn't go hungry. 😎
Fun fact, if you look at the team pictures Mariucci from the mid 80s into the 90s our store did the sweatshirts the coaches were wearing. I still have one of mine somewhere but it's almost a rag now....
Donatelli's was one of the first tenants in Valley Creek Mall (1979ish) and was open for several years so I'm sure that hurt too. Unfortunately for Ronally's Woodbury expanded east so the population center of the area shifted dramatically, especially as Radio and Woodbury Drives became more and more commercial.

Per Twitter/X the Hooters at MOA is closing on March 22. It’s been there for 33 years.
I was there in the Spring of ‘95 with a friend. Shaq and Penny Hardaway came and wanted a private dining table. The manager told them they don’t have private tables. My friend got up and asked Shaq to sign the Hooters menu. Shaq said “no”, followed by “if I sign one, I’ll have to sign them all”… lol!!!
The Station 19 property on campus has been sold to the U. It houses BWW, whose lease runs out in 2030. No plans on what the U will do with the property as of now.
It's possible that the U would keep the building and just wants to have control over who the tenant is in the one building that sits between all three of their big stadiums.
For frozen pizzas, we mostly the frozen pizzas, Pothole at Kwik Trip or Heggies Pizza. They are both on the higher end for price for frozen pizzas, but well worth it!!!
Though a friend from college claims Lou Malnati’s is great. Anyone ever had the frozen version of Malnati’s?!?!?!
@gator brew pub brand lotzza motzza. Definitely a fan of pothole at kw. Couple years ago they had that deal if the Vikings win it’s 2 for 1 for 24 hours after the game. They won 13 games that year and that was the end of that but that’s when we tried them out. Most all frozen pizza is twice as good on the Traeger and like a little kraut and onion added at the half way point. Any pellet grill turns pretty much any 3.00 pizza into pretty tasty, just use any cheap thin aluminum pizza pan underneath or it doesn’t cook evenly and at 375. I like to smoke pizzas for an hour if time allows. We rarely use our oven especially in the summer. Everything goes on that thing, smoked romin noodles just for grins once and interestingly tasty.😁
“Good pace, a lot of north and south, or it could be east and west, I’m not sure but either way…” Wooger
Took the family to Mr. Pig’s Smokery in Shakopee on Sunday. Pretty decent bbq. My wife and shared 2 platters while the kids were boring with chicken strips or grilled cheese. The pulled pork and jalapeño cheddar sausage were excellent. The ribs were good, but their brisket was disappointing. There, sides Mac and cheese and mashed red potatoes were great. And the muffins with their special butter were great.
Side note, my son did say they have the best chicken strips.
Have today and tomorrow off of work so a nice little 4 day weekend. Went to Spice Village, an Indian style restaurant in Apple Valley for lunch. Had the Andhra Chicken Curry. Spicy Andhra-stylecurry with bold, rustic regional masala flavors.
Definitely going back, but on tke weekend for the buffet and get more options.
I think the re-brand from Big Ten killed them. Tried to be too hipster-ish, tried to be something they are not. I think that's why Pink Ivy is doing well, they chose a level of branding, word caught on, and they are thriving. 30 Bales should have stayed Big Ten. They had a following, esp after the Dinkytown location closed.
Edit: the death knell in this industry are the words: It's not the same anymore/It's not like it used to be.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
