Doing some searching, looks like they had a similar issue a few weeks ago.
Regarding Dick Bremer, I for one will not miss him. He just comes off a little self important to me. I met him at an event a long time ago and he came off the same way. I know I've mentioned this in this thread before but I met John Gordon at the same event and he is quite possibly the nicest person I have ever met.
I can't say that I'm much of a Bremer fan, but I'd be willing to bet that his replacement will not be an improvement.

I hope Chris Atteberry gets it. When he did the radio broadcast in the interim for a couple weeks (months?) back before they hired Provus I thought Atteberry was excellent.
Atteberry was my first pick for radio, but Provus is excellent... Atteberry should get first dibs on ANY announcing gig in Minnesota.

I'm curious if they try to get Provus for TV and promote Atteberry to radio full time. Provus already does TV for Big Ten football and hoops so he's well aware of the ins-and-outs of TV broadcasting.

The NBA likes this deal because it gives the league more flexibility as Diamond tries to navigate its way through bankruptcy. Regardless of the current length of some of the NBA teams’ Bally Sports deals, all are set to end after this season.
The NHL is believed to be weeks away from cutting a similar deal, according to the court filings. Diamond sources said they also were happy with the deal, which they painted as a necessary step as the company tries to emerge from bankruptcy.

Any one else find the Bally’s app useless? I created an account and set up through my tv provider last weekend. Tried to log in today, wanted my credentials again. Put in the correct credentials and after one entry was told I’ve exceeded attempts and to try again in 30 minutes. WtF mate?
alrighty. Guess I’ll go watch a different game since you make it so hard to watch my local team.
luckily I’m somehow able to watch games on ESPN+ on my phone without an account. ?♀️

Tried a half hour later…same thing.
I’ve noticed it wants me to reconnect every time as well. So far if I wait anywhere between 30 seconds and a couple minutes it suddenly moves past that screen and shows the game(s) I can select to watch.
Tonight it was telling me there was some issue preventing them from playing it, but after I closed the app completely it did the above wait for it approach and I can watch.
Our app is on an AppleTV. Not sure how you close an app completely on other devices, or if you even need to. Could just be an Apple thing to have things running in the background.
Provus is a pro's pro.

Despite the end of the previous contract, a short-term deal with Bally isn’t out of the question for next season. The Twins also could find another broadcast partner or the team could handle the product in-house, as the San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks did last season. The goal of any new deal would be to reach new customers via a reliable streaming product while still retaining traditional cable customers, albeit on an alternate channel.
Seems a little late in the game to try and build something from the ground up. I would think they need a stop gap so they can be ready maybe for '25.

Atteberry has been excellent as far back as when he did the St Paul Saints broadcast well over a decade ago. This is excellent!
Reuse suggested this all happened when Dick had to take some time off due to Covid, and Corey got outstanding reviews.
I remember when Atteberry did some of the games in the interim before they hired Provus. I thought he was excellent too.
At first I was upset when they hired Provus but has been just as good. We are quite lucky to have a pair like this doing the twins.

I have not seen an official obit, so I'm not sure. My guess he was in his mid 70's. Way too young. IIRC, he had health issues for a few years.

Most times official obits come days or even weeks after a death... The Strib is doing an article on him that will be out this afternoon. Sounds like they may even use my photo of him since Neal Justin reached out to me to use it. Hoping that comes to fruition.

I was wondering the same thing. Is the Rink Live cutting back on the travel budget for Jess? I can see not going to Penn St, but Columbus is much easier. For me, I think the coverage for the Gophers has slipped this year. But if you want to read about Warroad or complaining about various customer service issues, his X account is the place to go to.
