Wisconsin going to be very not pleased with tonight. Cornell still ahead of them for now though will be passed if they lose again. As of now, an ECAC autobid will hurt the CCHA the most, but if Augie wins, there's a chance they sneak in ahead of Wisco as the last AL.
In the AHA, Bentley playing with fire again but scores with 53 seconds left after killing off a late penalty to send it to OT again. AHA hockey isn't great, but the games have been fun
Edit: Bentley pulls it off
Interesting story by Schloss. The Whioux playoff game will not sell out tonight. Many reasons are cited, including these are not part of the STH package, spring break and tickets are $62. YES $62. The prices were determined by the NCHC. He said the NCHC is going to have to review those prices in the future.

going to be interesting to see if there’s mass exodus off that team. Lot of underperformers there

Carter Amico, 2 nd round pick left and went back to USHL. They have an insane number on rounds 1-3 picks. Also, interested in Hutson and Eiserman and if they stay.

right! Nor st.paul, money never seemed to be an issue to them when the money they spent on alcohol looked like more than their ticket.

You know better. They aren't making the trip, they fled Grand Forks years ago to infest the Twin Cities. They're just driving across town.Whaaa?

The problem here is that it's $65 dollars and the drive back to the pit that they feel they escaped all those years ago.

It’s rather fascinating to watch how little Gadowsky has improved mckennas game. Totally out to lunch and PSU gives up a shorty.
Mich 2-1 in the 2nd. Fun up and down game
make it 3-1. Shocking McKenna on the ice again. And they just about give up another one.
michigan looks way better if they’d just stay out of the box
Clarkson (the #8 seed in the ECAC playoffs) sweeps a best of 3 quarterfinal series at Quinnipiac (the #1 seed) winning last night 3-0 and this afternoon 4-3.
Quinnipiac scored 2 goals in the first 4 minutes of the 3rd period to take a 3-1 lead and then went on the power play with 8 minutes left in the 3rd period. Clarkson scored two shorthanded goals 38 seconds apart and then an even strength goal 22 seconds after the penalty ended to take the 4-3 lead.

Not upset about that at all. For reasons.

it’ll be interesting to see what they have to say about Jackson if they go one and done in the tournament. They’re highly likely to get someone very hot from HE, UST, or else Wisconsin in the 1st round unless OSU manages to win the BTT
OSU beats MSU in OT. Chance to win the autobid. Rohlik has them playing well. They don’t score a ton but think they’d be a 4 no one wants to play if they sneak in
Trey will want that goal back though it may have glanced of the D's leg or stick.

The #1 seeds in the Big Ten (Michigan State), NCHC (North Dakota), Hockey East (Providence), and the ECAC (Quinnipiac) were all eliminated from their conference playoffs today by teams that had a losing record in conference play in the regular season.

If they sneak in, would they knock out Bucky? I don't claim to be an expert...
if so, HE AHA B10 and ccha are all autos (effectively). The HE winner may pass them depending on who it is but will come down to if the ECAC was also an auto.
If the ECAC goes auto, which we may know by the game time on Saturday, then yeah that game could be played to knock out Bucky

Duluth was .500 but even with that it’s gotta be a record to happen in one weekend
Duluth was 11-12-1 in NCHC conference play
8 regulation wins
8 regulation losses
3 OT wins
4 OT losses
1 Tie
Yes they won the shoot out after the tie but it is still a tie which is not the same as an OT win.

interesting. they’re listed as .500 on CHN but I trust you (as I guess is an npi losing record). Just was so crazy I went to go look how far under for multiple of these teams as it’s not like they’re all 1 or 2 under. Pretty crazy
UMD overall record is 23-13-1…funny how you omit that salient fact. Nice 5-1 road win at Grand Forks.Duluth was 11-12-1 in NCHC conference play

Not exactly an omission when conference play was the discussion.
The Probability Matrix on the College Hockey News website has now updated to include today's results. It shows Wisconsin as 93% to make the NCAA tournament.
It looks like for Wisconsin to miss the NCAA tournament the following 3 things need to happen.
Cornell needs to beat Havard tomorrow in game 3 of the ECAC quarter finals which will keep Cornell from dropping below Wisconsin in NPI.
Princeton or Clarkson needs to win the ECAC tournament next weekend.
Ohio State needs to win the Big Ten tournament next weekend.
If these 3 things happen
The NCAA tournament would be
Big Ten (4) - Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Ohio State (AQ)
NCHC (4) - North Dakota, Western Michigan, Denver, Duluth (Denver or Duluth will be the AQ)
ECAC (4) - Dartmouth, Cornell, Quinnipiac, AQ (Princeton or Clarkson)
Hockey East (2) - Providence, AQ (U-Mass, U-Conn, Boston College, or Merrimack)
CCHA (1) - AQ (Mankato or St. Thomas)
AHA (1) - AQ (Bentley, Sacred Heart, or Robert Morris)
Obligatory clip about the probability matrix.
https://clip.cafe/12-monkeys-1995/when-i-institutionalized-brain-studied-exhaustively/
I’ll add that I hope the three things mentioned above happen.
- go Cornell (trident is better😆)
- go clarion or Princeton
- go nuts.
So for the NCHC it’s UMD at Denver for the conference championship
Aloha!

The Fighting Hawks struggled in the Target Center. They flopped in the Xcel Energy Center. And now they've lost at home, too.
Minnesota Duluth scored just 2 minutes, 14 seconds into Saturday night's contest and went on to beat the Fighting Hawks 5-1 in an NCHC semifinal game in Ralph Engelstad Arena.
UND has now lost in the NCHC semifinals five years in a row. Since the league's formation in 2013-14, UND is 2-9 in the league semifinals.

Well written up/researched. If one was every looking for a year to say we need to shift onto on campus regionals for the first round, this is probably it as many of the seed lines are nearing locks and the 1-4 are locked in. For those who don't follow closely
Regional sites with host: Sioux Falls (UNO), Loveland (Denver), Albany (ECAC hockey--> so no idea how this one would works for ECAC teams who make it in), Worcester (HC); only of these who is in is Denver which at least makes that easier, but these home barns are close for some of our field
1s (in order): Michigan, UND, MSU, WMU
2s/3s are basically all decided with some flux at the 8/9: DU (2), UMD (2), Providence (2), Dartmouth (2/3), PSU (2/3), QU (2/3), Cornell (2/3), WI (3 if in)
4s: CCHA auto (UST or Kato), AHA auto, HE auto, ECAC auto/OSU/etc
As the 1, there's not really a regional closest to home for Michigan, but would you rather...
Go to Loveland and draw DU close to home or play in Albany or Worchester where you will assuredly get one of those ECAC teams (regional final) plus and AHA team that's close to home? They'll get whoever the lowest seed is, but that could get really interesting if you get another of the lower autos making it through (Clarkson, Harvard).
Then for the rest of them, UND as the 2 should be in Sioux Falls, but for attendance they're definitely going to place UMD there and that likely also means you send the CCHA auto as well as Wisconsin
Whichever they don't do for Michigan, you then are sticking MSU or WMU for what will amount to a road game with insert school from hockey east playing basically at home as their opening game, and oh hey you will get another east coast team for your second game because the only western 2s will be in Loveland and Sioux Falls.
Obviously still some things to be decided, but having 6/8 top seeds all being western teams is going to lead to someone having to go play effectively 2 road games. The bracket gets a little easier after today with the Harvard/Cornell game locking more of the field in, but several someones in the 1 band are going to have a much more challenging path

Game was closer than the score indicated, but the best teams I've seen this year are Michigan and MSU. Doesn't mean they'll win it as it's an any given gameday kind of thing in the FF and postseason hockey in general.
The KRACH is pretty damn tight in terms of rating unlike some years past where there was a very clear favorite (BC 23-24, MN 22-23). Feels like a pretty wide open FF at this point depending on who shows up
I saw this on FB, thought those of you going to Vegas for the FF might enjoy.
Dorothy: Who’s that?
Scarecrow: A man with an axe and a can of lube. I’ll ask if he wants to join us.
for anyone who likes cars and racing i would add speed vegas to the trip...legit track cars you can sit in and even drive for a hefty price...there's an outdoor observation area to watch the cars scream by...worth spending an hour or so thereI saw this on FB, thought those of you going to Vegas for the FF might enjoy.

Very strong list. No Porter Martone.
Kind of fascinating year with no feeling of a true favorite
I get what you're saying with no Martone, but there's also no Hage (similar with Hughes of Michigan being on and Stramel from MSU)
Even predicting the Hat Trick kind of just feels like politics when you look at the list/credentials

Not sure where else to put this but Danny Nelson announced he’s returning to Notre Dame for his senior season. Not really a shocker. Youngest brother Sammy will be a freshman next season. Chance for all 3 bros to play together. Same reason Max Plante will almost definitely be back next season even if he’s probably NHL ready.

Notre dame looks like they’ll suck again. But hey if this sets precedent for Wyatt Cullen to stick around longer to play with Joey, I’m all for it haha

ECAC (3) - Dartmouth, Quinnipiac, Cornell

Wisconsin gets in if either Ohio State or Princeton loses
Augustana gets in if Ohio State, Princeton, and Merrimack all lose
If Ohio State and Princeton both lose and Merrimack beats U-Conn then both Merrimack (AQ) and U-Conn (at-large) are in.
Please kick Wisconsin out.
