Good luck! While fuming about our bad luck we were watching the news and they had a live look at the lines at MSP. Yikes. Silver lining I guess, but I’m sure tomorrow night will be an even bigger shit show as they try to catch up.
We are a bit concerned about our flight next week as the weather doesn't look good either when we are scheduled to leave.
Wind looks to the only potential issue Tues/Wed. With Runways in every direction at MSP it takes a lot to cause issues. Strong winds are perfectly fine provided they aren't tailwinds of more that 10 knots or Crosswinds of more than 30 knots.

Aw bummer. I’m holding my breath until our plane is in the air that we don’t get canceled or delayed tonight. I’m thankful we had extra days to bookend the tourney days in case something happened. I hope all of you traveling closer to game day don’t run into issues!

We ran into issues last year. Our outgoing AA flight was cancelled. Ended up running down the concourse to catch a United flight that took us to Newark, then to Boston. Not a big deal, other than I hate connecting at Newark. I've always said when stuff gets screwed up you almost always end up in Newark.
Then we had an interesting flight back. Boston to Miami then to MSP. Got down to Miami and our flight was cancelled. Enden up spending 24 hours in Miami which was fine by me. Got flight vouchers, meal vouchers, and Hotel. Free night on South Beach.
Had a 6:30 flight from MSP to MCO via Delta. Should have been fine had things gone according to plan.
First, flight attendants were late to the plane. No urgency whatsoever. Still fine.
We end up boarding at 6:30 and we're still fine.
Plane is loaded and we push back by 7:05. We get to the end of the taxiway and it's still fine.
We're next to take off and the captain says traffic control wants to send us on a route he doesn't like. So he says we need to sort this out a bit. It's now 7:30 and it's starting to snow a bit.
At 7:50 he gets on again and says we have to go back to the gate to get the fuel we need for the route they want him to take. So we go to the gate and it's the farthest one from where we are.
We get back to our gate at 8:15 and fueling starts and the snow is picking up significantly now. Still no urgency.
At 9:30 they start realizing that there's snow and they tell us all to deplane because the crosswinds are too high. So we do, but then tell us we hope to get out soon.
We hang around the terminal until 11:30 when the airport finally closes and they pull the plug.
Of course by the time they finally cancel altogether there are no flights anywhere to Florida today. So we're forced to rebook tomorrow.
I know airline logistics are complicated but you had a pilot, crew, and a plane and we all lose two days as a result. Very annoying.

Sorry to hear that @skiumahlaw. We now have the conundrum of not having power to our house for an unknown amount of time due to the power pole to our house having been broken by a tree that fell on the line. ?
We moved our flight up a day. After seeing/hearing all of the horror stories and disappointments, I will add the extra day of rental car to our trip. Our hotel is paid through points and another day in Florida isn't a bad deal. Now that I have done this, the weather should be fine for those on Tuesday and Weds.

@cowgirl I've landed in Orlando after 1am on at least 3 different occasions in the last 5 years. Hope it all works out for you. FWIW we landed at Terminal 2 last night around 6:45 and it was getting pretty bad there...I'm not surprised the airlines cancelled an 8:30pm flight given all the problems they were expecting.
I had kicked around trying to find an airfare and a ticket since I could shack out with my parents, but with the early game Thursday and just coming back from Spring Break I'll just have to watch here.

Today we dealt with our hotel who cancelled our reservation because we were supposed to give 6 days notice that a blizzard would come and cancel our flight that was scheduled to take off before the blizzard warning even was scheduled.
Can we just fast forward to getting everyone in Tampa?

Sounds like you got screwed over by the tower mostly. They probably tried to route you around some of the storms down south, thus increasing the distance by about 150mi. So the plane wasn't carrying enough fuel for that so the hour it took to refuel caused the runway to go from wet to snow covered. The crosswind comes into play there because the allowable crosswind goes down quite a bit from a wet runway to a contaminated(slush/snow covered) runway on takeoff. From my limited flight training long ago I think it goes from 25 knots to 15 knots crosswind from wet to snow slush covered.

A couple of things to remember. The Frozen Four committee are the people who go out to the bars looking for volunteers to be hosts. Maybe there wasn't any other takers for a Weds afternoon get together and the U had to take this option. Before I roast the U on this, the last 3 Frozen Fours the Gophers have been in, all of the get togethers have been outstanding. Last years was especially fun. Let's hope we are all over reacting and they will have a special food and drink menu for us blue collar fans.

If you like cider or mead - cigar city winery and meadery in Ybor.
Practice is at 12:15-1:15 Wednesday and open to the public.

Cigar City’s cider place in Ybor is certainly worth a trip as Cowgirl mentioned if you like that. There’s a good ice cream joint I think not far from Angry Chair but I don’t recall the name
