I didn't hate the trade but I regretted giving up Buium who has a high ceiling. Billy felt the team was ready to make a run now, so he went all in. One series in, he's right so far...now all they need ro do is beat the best team in the NHL next.
Wild play a structure game with some top skill so they do have a chance.

Eh… best case scenario is that Buium eventually becomes 2/3rds the defenseman that Quinn Hughes is currently. If I remember correctly he’s also struggled in Vancouver since then, but that’s to be expected with how the Canucks are doing.

I was shocked at how poor Colorado’s PP numbers are. 17.1% in the regular season, 27th-best in the NHL. So either the Wild get wrecked 5v5 now, or they grind out 4 narrow Ws by the skin of their teeth and some timely PP goals.
It’s a great trade if they actually do something and/or he stays. If the end result is beating Dallas and that’s it, I don’t think it’s anything for Billy to be thumping his chest about.
