He looked a bit more himself tonight I thought. I said a couple times though, “damit maverick won’t engage” but then as it goes he did. Kinda feels like a breakout game from him is still coming, something just seems a little out of sync or not right, almost like he’s been out awhile and just came back and trying to stick handle through everyone. Idonno, to me Boldy draws the crowd he does and yet something positive is the outcome every time where Kk maybe forces one and it’s coming the other way now. He’s so gifted I expect something wow all the time because he has that and admit there’s a dollar sign sticker on his head I try not to think about but more than anything would love it if he got a couple highlighter’s to quiet the critics. Just my thought.

That was some horse sh*t officiating at the end of the game even for what has been on display this series.
Assuming Brink comes out tomorrow, I know after a win a lineup usually doesn't change but the bottom 6 isn't a fit for Brink. I would assume Yurov gets back in or maybe Sturm, thought he looked solid in game 4.

agreed i think they would not have called unless he was hauled down, which is 100% the wrong way to call that. Great move and finish by KK to ice the game though.

The officials did everything they possibly could to try to keep Dallas in that game last night and they almost pulled it off.

Kaprizov should some hockey iq there. He had the opportunity to take the shot sooner at the centerline. Instead he muscle his way into the offensive zone and scored making it 4-2. A lot of players might take the shot at the centerline, only to miss and possibly get called for icing.

Stripes are always making you scratch you head in the playoffs. On Boldy’s disallowed goal. It wouldn’t surprise me if the goal would have stood if one of the NHL darlings scored that goal. And if Hartman would have crosscheck Benn, if wouldn’t surprise if Hartman would be suspended for game 6. No way Benn would be suspended for an elimination game.

Brink had a very poor showing in Game 5, mostly mental/decision-making wise. Hope he turns it around later down the road

I don't think there is much to read into. Its the 4th line Center spot and it is going to get 9-11 minutes of ice time tonight. Put the guy in there that is going to grind the most, be difficult to play against and get in the way of shots.

Well... I don't think they like him taking faceoffs right now. Sturm is a much better faceoff winner than Yurov. My personal opinion is that in Game 6, at home, if you can win draws and keep the puck away form Dallas, all the better. Game 5 I think proved how much better we could play when winning most of the draws rather than chasing the entire time. Yurov wasn't playing poorly (other than faceoffs), but wasn't lighting the world on fire either, and that 180' clear into the netting was costly. Hopefully they can work on his faceoffs in the offseason?
I don't like Yurov better than any of the top 6 wingers for sure. I think Yurov and Tarasenko are about even right now, and if Tarasenko continues to look as slow as he has appeared the last couple games, I could see Yurov coming in for Tarasenko. Again, just my opinion.
I am pretty bummed to be missing Brodin. I know some on here don't like him, but I think he is such a good shutdown D. I don't think he is a #1 or #2 D, but he might be the best #3 D in the NHL. No offensive upside really, and that is just fine. He does not make many mistakes, and you rarely, if ever, have to talk about him being out of position or making a wrong decision. Just a solid, you know what you are going to get, defenseman. Hopefully he can come back for Round 2.

the refs have been pretty disciplined with their whistles tonight, lots of contact and overdramatic acting that would’ve drawn calls on the Wild earlier in this series. Between the home crowd and Benn’s recent thuggery/discipline, I wonder if the NHL is intentionally trying to avoid more reffing controversies
