Contrary to some of the posts here, the game showed why the Wild ARE a playoff team--despite Benn with the blatant cheat leading to a potentially series-altering goal, the Wild kept pushing and the momentum just kept swinging their way until the very end. In past years you could just feel that a 2-1 lead by the other team in round 1 was basically the end of the series, but not this year. You can just tell it's a completely different mindset on the ice.
That being said, they really, really need to find a way to get rid of the kind of crap that Benn pulls--it turns hockey into soccer. They should be able to review that for misconduct, suspend him, whatever--anything to snuff that out... And no, an embellishment penalty isn't the answer, because that just evens out the penalties. It needs to be a reversal of the original penalty called, then something like a 2 minute penalty on the diver and a 10 minute misconduct. It just ruins the game.

This team will be different when they advance to the 2nd round. In their previous three playoff series they held 2-1 leads in all of them and found a way to lose 2-4 in all three.

3 points in game 1 where everyine was good and there was nothing to be critical of. Since then he has 3 assists where he wasn't even a factor in the goal. That's not enough from a player who decided he needs to be paid as the best player in the world.
My opinion of the diving and embellishment is that it needs to be handled off the ice. Asking referees to see that crap during a game is asking a lot. What Benn did yesterday needs to be 2-3 game suspension. Simple as that. It would get rid of all this garbage instantly. It's no different than the dirty hits, the league has an easy answer to fix the problem. The real problem is that they have no one in their leadership with the intelligence to want to fix their problems.

His previous practices were skates on his own and limited interaction if any with the team. So this is a huge step. And another day+ until game time.

The Wild really need to end this series and get as much rest as possible. Just another reason why Gary Bettman's playoff format SUCKS. The Wild should be opening at home in round 1 and round 2.
