the more I see him the more I love his game and understand the hype. While he has the puck on his stick in the O zone they look like they’re on a PP. Its like it’s fun to watch him think if that makes sense, his foresight is almost on another level imo.

Another day another Wild win 5 straight wins. 8-1-1 in the last 10 games.
Kirill has 7 goals, 11 assists, 18 points in the last 10 games.
Since coming back from injury Boldy has 5 goals, 6 assists, 11 points in 6 games.

I've read rumors that Minnesota wants an impact forward (Guerin likes Trocheck), and goaltending is a prized commodity. A team like Edmonton could get involved in a multiple-team deal to get a guy like Wallstedt. Edmonton has to know they can't win a Cup unless they improve their goaltending.

Unless you're putting together a package for like Brady Tkatchuk, or Matthews decides he wants out of Toronto, I think you hold onto Wally. Those are the types of deals where I'm fine parting with Wally and/or Yurov pending other pieces.
I'd love to get a guy like Trocheck or Ryan O'Reilly now, but if it costs the premium stuff I'd pass. Stramel + other picks/prospects should be more along the lines of packages we shop unless it's the cream of the crop type of guys. Maybe a Boone Jenner when Columbus sells, or Charlie Coyle if it isn't too pricey. Add some depth/versatility. Not the sexy names, but we've gotta be careful giving up the assets we have left. Bigger deals tend to happen over the offseason and who knows when the next Quinn Hughes hits the market.

The names I am hearing people throw out for trades is really weird... The Wild trade for Hughes, and now people are talking about trading Stramel, Yurov, AND Wallstedt for an above average center. YES, the Wild need a center, but not at that cost.
I would be in favor of trading Wallstedt if it gets you a Tkachuk or a Jack Hughes... but teams typically don't trade Franchise #1 centers. Trocheck would be a nice addition, and SHOULD improve our faceoffs. But he isn't a franchise player. He is worth pursuing, but I wouldn't give up Wallstedt for him.

I like Fluery as a person, and as a former goalie. A team that wants to be taken seriously in the playoffs cannot bring an over 40 goalie out of retirement as their main backup. The strategy would be to crash the next hard and get Gustavsson to 'tweak' something, because the series would instantly be over. Flower was on the decline, and taking an entire year off from real games is all she wrote. You cannot just step back into a game easily after that, especially late in the season during a playoff push. Cal Peterson is a better backup option at this point than Flower would be.

agreed 100% on Wallstedt. Wall is still under contract next year on cheap deal functioning as a 1b. Trocheck would be a solid piece (solid top 6 C, kills penalties, wins draws) piece but they're going to try to hold for a ransom as he's under contract for multiple years, multiple teams will be looking at him, and they look like morons for what they got for Panarin so they're going to hold out for a bigger offer.
Additionally, they also have Shesterkin under contract until the 32-33 season so they're not going to place as big of value on Wall so it's probably also going to cost us a 2nd rounder with him.
I'd much more envision the Rangers would want Yurov over Wall. I think that trade I'd be fine with as it's a push in on win now (that's enticing to Hughes to resign) and bring in additional FA talent for next year in a year we'll have 14mil in cap space with basically no one to resign unless they want zuccy back for another go around.

It was Russo who first threw out the idea the Wild could back-fill with Fleury. He made it clear it was speculation, not based on what he heard form Fleury or Wild. But he did say that Fleury has been working out with the Wild and even skating and playing some goalie in practice, so its not like he has been sitting around doing nothing for a year. Russo says he is in great shape and wouldn't be surprised if he filled in at practice after Olympics to give Gus and Wall a break. And even tough Fleury hasn't said anything about an interest in returning, he spends a lot of time around the organization and rink. That being said, I still agree with all the people saying the only way we should trade The Wall is for a clear number 1 center who we know we will have for at least a few years.

I think the 32 Thoughts Podcast hinted at Wallstedt for Thomas as a potential offer from Minnesota. That's a dangerous deal to make, but I think the asking price of three top picks or prospects is laughable as well.
I've watched several minutes of the 3rd period and I don't think the Wild have won a face-off yet. Not a great recipe for holding a 1 goal lead.

They came out of the Olympic break and smacked around the best team in the league only to follow it up with a predictable loss to Utah and now an average performance against a team they probably had penciled in as a win.
