I REALLY like the behind the goal view on the PP on the broadcast. I have never seen that before tonight (or at least I just don't remember it), but I feel like I can see the play progress a lot better.
might’ve been the wild game last week but the broadcast went out but the sound from on the ice was still working. Closest thing to being there kinda wish they’d just stop talking for a few minutes now and then to get that real sense of the game more often.

As others have pointed out, the crispness of the puck movement on the PP noticeably slows down when the puck hits Zuccys stick. And it’s becoming a clear PROBLEM.

Stalock seemed to be implying that people were out of line who noticed KK had a sideways couple of weeks. He was a completely different player last night, fast to the puck and aggressive all over the ice.
The one criticism i have about last night's game is both KK and Zuc had a couple shots available from 15 feet and elected to pass instead. They would have been highlight goals....if there was actually a shot. The team does better when they're shooting.
It's a long season and the final leg is coming up. The team seems to feel that.
I missed that particular issue, but I personally like Stalock the most as the analyst. I look forward to his appearances.

Walz I would put a couple of levels below Clymer. Zero personality Zero sense of humor and barely even a basic understanding of the sport. I think he truly believes that dumping the puck and changing is the greatest thing that a player could do.

I got a good chuckle out of this one. Walz is in the right spot when he's at the studio desk. So is Clymer. Speaking extemporaneously and fluently is a talent. Clymer can't do it and Stalock isn't exactly a natural. Walz can handle the job, but unfortunately, he's not all that interesting.
I actually like Ryan Carter. One of the best guys who thinks on his feet and asks good questions is Gorg. It's just that he has a face for radio. 😆

I wonder why Casey Hankinson had (I believe) such a short stint in the booth? Of all former local players to have had a chance I thought he was one of the best.

While I agree indiscriminate muttering is annoying, there's something homey about a natural reaction. I remember Woog would do that once in a while. Every now and then he would forget himself and just react like a fan, but he was always really good at snapping right out of it with some insightful commentary.
I'll also add that I wasn't a huge LaPanta fan in the beginning, but I admit he's grown on me. It's obvious he puts in a lot of time behind the scenes understanding the game and the players. LaPanta-Carter would be my go-to combo.

I would hope that Wallstedt only goes for a top line player. Don't see a deal with Ottawa unless Guerin really likes Cozens. That would be a really gutsy trade but could really work out if he fit inHmm

Bad penalty calls are one thing, but this game is loaded with questionable judgments from the linesmen as well.

I have YouTube Tv, so rarely get a Wild game. So I keep tabs on the CBS Sports app. Nice to see the Wild come back from 3-0 and win 4-3 in a SO. Where is that pass common??? As an Ex-Goalie, I hate everything about it. How is a soft, no-look, backwards pass from the corner to the slot in your defensive end a good idea? Nothing against Faber, I just really don't like that play and wouldn't advocate for it at all. Yurov wasn't expecting it at all, thats how he missed it. I am willing to assume he was more concerned about his defensive positioning there and not losing a guy versus having a pass thrown at his feet. Granted I never played anywhere close to the NHL...

The way I saw it was Faber knew Yurov was supporting the play, so he just tried to pop the puck back to him. As I recall, Yurov was about on the goal line and unchecked. It's obvious that it was poorly executed, but Faber never intended the puck to make it to the slot. On that same play, Hughes' stick was being held so egregiously that he couldn't make it back to defend the net.

My nephew and I were talking about this. Minnesota wasn't very good tonight until the end. They’re getting elite goaltending this year and still have trouble winning in regulation. No complaints about piling up wins, but it does create doubts about the playoffs.
I hope they have another gear for the playoffs and can up their shot totals. Not sure how they compare to other teams but it seems like they don't get enough shots on net.
Wild draft pick Charlie Stramel had a hat trick and an assist today scoring the game winner in OT to finish off Michigan State's sweep of Penn State. Minnesota players are clearly better than Canadian players (Penn State has a ton of Canadians). 😉
Being a 1st round draft pick that stayed 4 years in college I think he could help the Wild early in his pro career.
