True though my expectations were never high for this team to begin with. Beating a down Michigan program at home isn't a sign of... anything really. This team can maybe go 3-3 from here, at best 4-2 though that even seems like a stretch with PSU on the road and UCLA looking good so far, they're not beating Indiana on the road.
So with the outcomes of both games of Minnesota and Iowa yesterday I'm really not comfortable to call this upcoming game anything other than a coin flip. Turns out Washington is awful and Purdue may be not as bad as thought. As much as you guys called Purdue a trap game that may be what the Battle for Floyd is for Iowa. They could come up here to Dinkytown with overconfidence and fall short against a Gopher team that can compete. I'll be interested to see what the betting line opens up at.

Well if I’ve learned anything after this weekend of football, it’s that you’re not as good or as bad as you think. Crazy year. We could finish 5-1, we could finish 0-6. If MN can win at least one of Iowa, WI, and PSU, it will be the first time Fleck holds more than 1 rivalry trophy (broken bits of chair excluded).
Buried because of the lead story across the road but I figured I would chime in on the day before the Battle for Floyd. Line is at -6.5 for Iowa and the o/u at 40.5. My gut has Iowa keeping Floyd and heading back down the Ave of the Saints with a 31-14 victory.

I am on YouTubeTV and could not find Fox Business or Fox One (listed in the crawler at the bottom)...
Just wondering why thy couldn't have switched it over for the MN/Iowa area. Missed the first two drives and 4+ minutes for an out of market game that was already decided.

Apparently this was one of those "choose your own ending" movies.
MN chose.....better than I.

Well yeah, I’d hope the players don’t give up. Stakes are pretty low for my couch-sitting ass so it shouldn’t be a big deal when I let decades of history make me pessimistic. 😂
Minnesota sports fans are sooooooooo negative the minute something goes bad they think it will continue to go bad.
I'm going with nurture.

Thankfully the Gopher hockey and football players didn't have that same attitude.
It is amazing what can be accomplished when you keep a positive attitude.
I suspect this partly explains why we rarely, if ever, pull off the random title runs you see with some teams like UMass in 2021, UMD in 2018, Providence in 2015, etc. Where they came into the tourney as fairly unremarkable teams like a 2 or 3 seed, who got hot at the right time.
Minnesota teams (not just the Gophers) often seem to have more difficulty with setting aside a disappointing last game / series / month to focus on what's in front of them.
I'd say both teams were trying to earn an L. At least their offenses were.
Even at the very end of the game when Minnesota was running out the clock, they were flagged for a hold. There was zero reason to hold there. A no-gain outcome is fine. That tacked on 10 yards and made the FG trickier.
As the resident Hoosiers fan, our defense is championship caliber, but our offense has been terrible. Hoover, IU's starting QB, was injured against OSU, and was still playing hurt yesterday against Michigan, where IU won for the first time since 1967. Hopefully he's healthy against Minnesota, but Minnesota winning wouldn't be a miracle, because Indiana hasn't been scoring either. Can't wait to watch it though.

This is like Indiana's 7-8th straight game, Hoover is hurt and so maybe now is the time.
