I suppose if Rombach is as “projectable” as they say he could be ready to slot into a bottom pair in Nashville after his sophomore season if the Preds are rebuilding but I’d slot that under unlikely.

would go with the pretty simple that one or multiple of those dmen don’t come in at 18. Is going to become more common on the ntdp too with the prospect pool and we’ve clearly shown we’re willing (as are the players) to have them do that with Phillips and Kvasnicka this year

It would be weird as a 19 year old playing junior hockey to have to move from Michigan to NY just before the season starts. Need to find a place to live while making very little money. I assume the teams help out a bit with that, but I imagine you have to keep a VERY small amount of stuff at your current apartment since you may have to pick up and leave on short notice. You can own 2 suitcases worth of clothes and your equipment bag and that's about it.
Anything more than that I would assume you throw it in a bunch of boxes and have the team ship them to you? Do they live in team owned apartments or with billet families?

was one of the huge stories of the NHL draft this year was the death of Schaefer's billet (in addition to his own mother)
At least with a billet you might be able to ask them to ship some boxes for you or help get boxes to the team. And then you don't have to worry about apartment leases and whatnot. Weird lifestyle.
Obviously much different in juniors than playing minor league hockey and getting a living wage level salary.
I know a guy who billets up to 3 or 4 players at a time for the Minnesota Moose NA3HL team and he said some of these kids can be pricks to deal with. I don't know why he does it but he seems to love it, despite the issues, and he goes to all of the games and cheers them on.
Oh Canadians billet. There are billet sister *ahem* stories out there that are fit for the Dear Penthouse treatment.

It’s so weird having prospects in the CHL. I have no idea how points in that league translate to NCAA. I’m used to following the USHL where a point per gamer in the U usually means you’ll be a pretty good player in college. No reference for the CHL whatsoever. We’ll have a better idea in a few years.
Harper has an October birthday (2008) so he barely misses the cutoff for this year’s draft. He’ll get drafted in 2027 meaning he’ll come in fall 2027. (Correcting a post I made earlier)

Levi Harper with a goal and 2 assists tonight. Still don’t quite know how to judge the CHL but he’s over a point per game so far and still not even in his draft year. We got a good one.

Dont have the time to dig up all the stats but early returns on Kvasnicka, Harper and Katz have been great. Casey when he plays has been stellar but for some reason he’s still in the backup role.
Conboy and Wyatt Cullen still haven’t played a game yet (inj). Hopefully that changes soon. Jarvis’s numbers look bad til you realize his team simply doesn’t score at all. They’re averaging like 1 goal a game (or at least they were til they put up 5 last night). Also he’s a junior playing USHL so he’s definitely ahead of schedule there.
