But but but, FIRE tBOB! 😛
We are still 32nd in NPI and on track to have arguably the worst season since the 70’s.
I am in the let this offseason and next season play out camp. The fact the locker room is sticking together indicates that is the right approach.
Ditto.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
As much as people hate Wisc., you have to hope for the best for this young man.The team needed the lift and earned both wins this weekend. Something tells me Bucky will be working on the PK this week.
The WI defenseman who went down looked like a pretty bad injury. His left leg folded the wrong way under Whipple's full weight. It looked like the ankle but could be a knee too.

Our seats are next to the team docs. They usually stay seated for a bit after a big hit, but on this one, they gave it about 30 seconds before going down the tunnel. It reminded me if Lindgren's slide into the end boards. They jumped out of their seats on that one, too.
Okay, I have been missing from this platform. I was all set to go along for the ride on FB, but there is now a new RULE: No bad mouthing the coaches or players. ugh.
I am back GPL!
I don't have to worry about my Gophers, they are the PK KINGS!!!
Great job this weekend!
Happy to be back here as well.
Carol, aka QoGH
At least we got this weekend. It might be a blip, or the start of something, but at least we got this. For the first time in a long time I’m looking forward to next weekend with this group.

The problem with that approach is that there are decisions being made now that will impact the team 3+ years down the road, and others that were made 2 years ago that will impact next season. And there are "branding" aspects of the NLI world that are being created that will define the recruiting pathways of the future. Historically, we are a premiere program, but if we lost the recruiting sources the history will not keep us as competitors. Modern brand is critical to recruiting the elite players.
If the recruiting pipeline was stacked so that next season would be better than this, then perhaps I would agree with waiting. But it isn't. The truth of the matter is that next year's team will probably be even worse than this years.
I don't think the U will fire Motzko. And perhaps they should not. Perhaps he deserves to go down losing. But I also think this is Bob's last year. I can see them giving him some sort of emeritus promotion and kicking him upstairs, and bringing in a young guy who will run the team.
And what if next year, this year's team plays all year like they did this weekend, because they matured and grew?
If next year, that doesn't happen, yes, everything is under a microscope.

yeah I don’t get the take the team will be worse. This is provided Bob goes and gets 1-2 defensemen which there are absolutely some Minnesotans who are at lesser schools you could easily convince to come in for top 4 minutes and balance classes plus let a guy like Phillips season further. Whipple will be fine in top 4 minutes and the rest all are fine as contributors provided all signs are pointing to Harper possibly coming in and then you can let him work as a power play specialist while he gets his feet wet.
I have very little concern about the forward group for next year with Kvasnicka plus possibly cullen and internal progression of a ton of underclassmen replacing Lamb (and yes I get Mitts is graduating and displays leadership, but that production is basically nonexistent on the score sheet). Goalie is also set (with an extra transfer incoming to compete with/backup LDP if Airey chooses to leave. The growth up front this year has been very solid
We’ll see and luckily we still have a couple months left of this season to look forward to seeing that continued growth building to next season. The thing I’m most encouraged about on that regard is that they’re all still locked in playing team hockey which is why I don’t share some of the flight risk concerns others have. This changes obviously if Bob is let go, but I like the growth I’ve seen and I have to disagree that I do like the look of the Down the pipeline group pending how things go with McArthur and Geiger and if we can land Joey Cullen (and of course Fitzhenry and/or Schneider are definite takes too who are still on the market)
