The demise of the Gophers was severely exaggerated.
Just swept the #3 team in the country.
Go home sue thanks for coming
“Good pace, a lot of north and south, or it could be east and west, I’m not sure but either way…” Wooger
Sue is a girls name
What a great series. Team seems to be coming together. Glad I didn’t give up on the season after the Tech series.
So much for the big hole the first two weekends put us in. Two wins in the Gophers are now #17 in NPI ahead of North Dakota, Denver, BU, BC and many other good teams.

Literally ran out thumbs for this one!!!👍👍👍

You ask anybody who the 3rd ranked team is based on the games and which team hadn’t won a game and you would’ve had 100% of people get it wrong
gophers out everythingd them this weekend
Great sweep!
This team might be fun to watch this season they have some guys that can score. They need to work on face offs though, that was rough.
Is tArrogance back?
Heh, it never left.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Wait, we're good again?
F**k back off to the sugar beet farms
I remember when the uscho forum threads would be nuts during Gopher Sue week, those were some crazy fun times on there.
Sue Sports is going to have some fun posts tonight. I'm sure they are taking these loses well. 🤣
23 didn't pot one but he sure had a couple of nice passes.

People are saying…
Nice business suits though HAHAHAHAHAHA
@collegehockeyaddict with a different officiating crew they blow them out both nights.
Cathartic pair of games which renews a ton of optimism. Let's keep it rolling.
I did not see this coming. The crowd noise came through tv both nights really well. That place was rocking. I really hope they had some recruits in the building.
120 minutes of hustle and effort.
one of the most complete series I’ve seen in a very long time.

Funeral suits tonight I guess
Huge weekend! That looked like a completely different team out there
I like the nasty that # 26 plays with
Awesome to see Wyatt get going. With him gaining a little confidence and getting acclimated to the speed at this level, I'm excited to see what he can do moving forward. Especially on the PP when there is extra time and space.

Over exaggerated emotional response? No chance.
The Good: The Gophers played with passion, skill and discipline (deserved the sweep)
The Bad: The Officials were terrible both games allowing North Dakota to be dirty and chippy.
The Ugly: The Gophers MIGHT be the worst college team I've ever seen at face offs?
* After the first two series I was thinking the NCAA tournament was a long shot, but now I like our chances.
I thought I heard Wally mention that NoDak is supposed to be a faceoff specialist or something like that.
Put that game tape on in the players room all year. They play like that and there’s no reason they can’t be in DC this year but that’s gotta be the standard intensity you’re aiming for

On the faceoff stuff, the numbers look ugly but they did a really good job with many und wins being contested and almost immediately turned over. The high leverage draws would be a lot more interesting and I think way closer to 50/50
Things that were fun based off entirely just vibes.
1. Wyatt Cullen. That is all.
2. Strahl was that dude tonight in net. Our goalie setup looks solid.
3. Unsung heroes like Rombach, Ludtke, and the fourth line were spectacular this weekend. Played their part well and were finishing checks all over the place. I’m sure there’s others I’m missing because…
4. The whole team, to a man, played great this weekend. Had each other’s backs and picked each other up when they were down.
5. Seeing Whipple in the tunnel in his letterman at the end of the game, hyping his teammates up was awesome.
6. The fans showed up and they were passionate and they were loud. Just like the team. You could tell through the tv that the place was jumping. Looked absolutely electric!
Alright now, Football, it’s your turn.

Any video of Whipple? Would love to see it
Re: faceoffs:
How many times were we kicked out of the faceoffs? I know about the new rule and such, might want to work on that.

You forgot Lofgren. Played like a beast and then roughed up Zellers to finish the sweep.
What a refresh. That was awesome, unexpected, and now my hopes are way way up.
My hopes are tempered. We showed what we CAN be, I am not sure we can sustain that.
*shakeshead*
Sorry, I momentarily had a shade of losing tArrogance, I shall spend 2 minutes in the box.

I’d be more trepidatious if we didn’t basically repeat last night’s game tonight.
Yes UND had more push during a stretch of the game, and you can trace that back to STAYING OUT OF THE GD BOX. Also 2nd game of a series the team that lost is always going to push a little bit harder. They responded well enough to win by multiple, which is what matters most.
Sweep Penn State next weekend and let’s end October on an even higher note.

No you’re right to wonder if they can do that against a ho-hum opponent. But let’s not truly worry until we light that firecracker.

Yeah I don’t put much stock into ND controlling chunks of each game. They are good, and they are going to get their chances. Unlike last Friday, the boys stood firm (and got a damn save or two) and got through it.

Corniest bit in college hockey. Glad it backfired in their face
Holy crap what a weekend!! These teams never sweep each other so I’m gonna enjoy the hell outta this one!
Lofgren plays with some spunk. Loved him this series.
