I believe an insider said he was in a sling. I've had every shoulder injury you can have and there's no way he's 100% now. I don't know the injury but all the info points to one thing.
Rest is the best medicine I would say. Faber did have his arms around the shoulders of his teammates in the picture though. Chesley's arms were hidden behind his teammates.

I saw that too. Even if they couldn't practice, they wouldn't miss this for the world. If I counted right, everyone's there.
I was thinking earlier today about how there's very little drama with this team. It wasn't that long ago when we were hearing rumblings about clique-iness in the locker room. Not so this season. Even the guys we're expecting to sign when the season's over all seem to have the attitude of being here for the team and getting the job here done first before even thinking about anything else.
Not every disease is visible. Not every pain comes from an obvious wound. Some people you see day-to-day may be suffering in ways you or I may never understand and fighting just to live a normal life. Please consider contributing to the Facial Pain Association and together we can find a cure.
The last player of significant caliber that came back, and I could very well be wrong, was Vanek. I get the same vibe from this team. Mad they couldn't play during the Covid shutdown, they had a real shot, so they said screw it, let's do it this year.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
The snow storm shouldn’t affect attendance right? It’ll be done by Thursday. Hopefully all plowed by Friday.
Hopefully Ohio State flys in today or before tomorrow afternoon!

It'll be done snowing but will probably still be a mess on Friday. Glad I'm going Saturday.
The wisconSIN hockey state tournament is the first weekend in March (not at the Kohl) and boys basketball is the 3rd weekend at the Kohl.
There are other sports than hockey and basketball. IIRC they couldn't host a playoff game at the Kohl Hole one year because it hosted the State Volleyball tournament. There is also Wrestling, but I don't know the timing of that sport (HS or NCAA). But Wisconsin does have LaBahn Ice Arena as an option and I think the Dane County Coliseum is still a thing. So Wisconsin at least has options.
Volleyball is in the Fall
Wrestling is Feb. 23-25 @ Kohl
Girls BB is March 9-11 in Green Bay
wisconSIN and Ohio are probably very similar to Minnesota for tourney times.
Keep your stick on the ice...
But we also need to remember this happened a few years ago, so things may have changed or it was a 1 time thing for the arena not being available. Maybe like this years prep bowl being moved back a week. I do recall a B1G team having to work around arena issues, but I just can't recall which team is was or what year. It was in the first 5 years of the league though. But as they say, it's water under the bridge now.

I’d like Nelson and Lamb to get off their shnides. Also keep Kurth going and confident. If the 18-24-22 line gets going like the first half look out. I think they’re playing well they just aren’t necessarily producing at the rate they were in the first half. Especially 24.
How do you watch ESPNU on a laptop again?
You go to Gophersports.com, click on tickets, then come and watch the game in person?
Just beginning my 81st year and I get hit with an abnormally high TSH from one of 13 blood tests done in the light of the listless, lackadaisical, malaise following the COVID booster shot. The TSH:T4 ratio is a marker for Thyroid cancer ( on top of the invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the head [ not the brain yet ] ), So, another TSH blood test is scheduled for mid-March, which will determine which way the wind blows . . . .
I'd love to be there in person, but too many comorbidities right now preclude that happier time.
And, now, basically struggling through all of the options with regard to bringing up ESPNU on the laptop in order to HDMI to the 70 inch screen in the lower level . . . .
Go Gophers ( win two for the ol' codger )!
Not knowing what to do, they do what they know . . .
Knowing what to do, they sometime don't do it . . .
The 26th year of the Gopher Men's Hockey Profile got to be too much for this ol' codger to handle . . . what with all of the possible activity on the transfer portal . . . . So, I'm closing it down at the 25th year . . .
The all important question (and I might of missed it)... is OSU in town already? Coming now, during the break in the storm? Or coming tomorrow evening after the weather terrorist "ok" it for the storm to stop?

All I’m getting from that tweet is that Ohio State is both bad at planning ahead and they’re soft. Just fly through a blizzard. How hard can it be ?
They might fly in on Friday. Not ideal for them.
Plus they gain an between time zones and the game is at 8pm.

@ushanabi I am sorry to hear the news. Can't they do a biopsy rather than make you wait a month for another blood test? Prognoses are usually pretty good so I am hoping for the best.
I have a hypoactive thyroid so I am used to high TSH readings, but I didn't know high numbers could be a sign of cancer....
Your thyroid and TSH levels can be tricky. A high TSH level actually means your thyroid is underperforming and is hypothyroidism. And a low TSH level means your over performing and is hyperthyroidism. Though I’m a firm believer after working in lab for nearly 25. Just because a certain blood level is not in range, doesn’t mean to worry or panic. What is range for what is deemed avg. Might not be avg for you or I. My TSH levels have been slightly out of range on the low end. Though I have consistently at or around 0.27 to 0.32 (range: 0.35-4.94) yearly since 2005. So my primary, a specialist and myself agree that my thyroid is preforming normally for me. Though if the TSH levels dip more, we’ll consider another route.

Any word on OSU? They should be on the tarmac or in the air if they have more than 2 brain cells rubbing together.

add on top that a rising tsh as you age is also normal (ie it’s Common for someone who’s 80 to have a tsh of 8-10 and leave it untreated if the T4 is normal). Endocrine axes are wild things as we age with great degrees of variance
They haven't yet called me to tell me what their plans are. Bastards!Any word on OSU? They should be on the tarmac or in the air if they have more than 2 brain cells rubbing together.

Curious if they're actually a joint charter or not. They left within minutes of each other, but one of the planes has a capacity of 30 passengers, which would be tricky for a hockey team+staff+gear. The other one is a 50-55 seat capacity, which I'd expect would work better for a team.
Maybe they set up something with family members on a charter, too, and it got split into two small planes due to what was available.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
30 is pretty close for a team and staff. Though with all their junk, 50-55 might be better suited.
Keep your stick on the ice...
The funny thing about it. The Wild had no problem getting out of town Tuesday night after the game or Wednesday morning. So I really don’t fell bad for OSU and their travels. They had ample amount of time Wednesday morning and even today after lunch. The one thing we peasants don’t know, is if they had access to a charter at those earlier times. Or if one or both of the flights are OSU, was the earliest available.
Keep your stick on the ice...
Who knows, as cheap as OSU seems to be with their hockey programs ( see rink issues ), it would not surprise me if the administration did not want to pay for the extra night in a hotel for the team if they came in a day early.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
It’s mind boggling. OSU had deep pockets just from their football program. And they seem to be penny pinching to the hockey programs. At least penny pinching for an arena.
Keep your stick on the ice...
That's what I'm thinking. 30 people might work, but not sure there's the cargo capacity for their regular luggage + 23 sets of hockey gear and the assorted spares/medical stuff/etc30 is pretty close for a team and staff. Though with all their junk, 50-55 might be better suited.

thanks! I hadn’t read that far down!
Gameday!! Let’s go Gophs!
I don’t put much stock in outdoor games where dog sized chunks are being removed from the ice. If you look at the rest of their games they’ve been living in splitsville all second half. Yes they’ll be tough games but if the Gophers are as legit as we think they are they absolutely sweep this weekend. Especially on the Mariucci ocean.
Sweeeeeeeep!! Lets go Gophers
An 8 p.m. game is no bueno for this guy as 10 a.m. after working all night is a tough go. If I can disassociate from work shortly and get in some rest first then game on.

Would you send me a PM with the scoop. My hubby is really bad at fully reading his gopher emails and deleting them. I asked him about this and he has no idea!
Note: Due to inflation dirty deeds will no longer be done dirt cheap.

Sorry to hear about that. I am a cancer survivor and it was Thyroid Cancer too. Really simple surgery from what they say 99 times out of 100 it does not spread past the thyroid. Scar will be about 1 inch in the neck all you do then is take 1 little pill everyday for the rest of your life. I hope it all works out for you. F Cancer
