I'm over the snow this winter. The driveway at work is thawed enough now that I will have to adjust the shoes on the plow so I don't push gravel into the ditches. Only good thing is that this snow will melt soon enough rather than stick around for a month or so.

Any bets on where this season will end up at. Snow coming Thu. and Fri. Still two weeks of March and April seems to get a heavy wet snow.

One million inches!

Roads were still pretty good in the north metro at 5:30. But now at 9:30 there is a LOT of black ice. Be careful out there.

Roads will be crap tomorrow. I was HOPING it would snow in the Plymouth area to avoid the ice layer, but to no avail. My balcony is pure ice. BTW, that wind SUCKS.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Earlier in the week we were supposed to get 8 inches, barely got a dusting but I am not complaining
5 min after posting this I attempted to circle a round about. My wheels were turned and my car went in a straight line and I stopped just before colliding with a snow bank. I was creeping slowly too. Our ice. I hope they salt the hell out of the streets tonight.Roads were still pretty good in the north metro at 5:30. But now at 9:30 there is a LOT of black ice. Be careful out there.
A friend was coming home tonight from yoga or some sh* and she said roads were really bad, BUT plows were out in force, just a late reaction.

I'll take what we got which was much less than forecasted. West of Mankato, Worthington/Marshall area, I guess got the brunt of the weather. Snow and the winds made for just crap roads and poor visibility. I guess there was a 15-20 car pile up between Brewster and Worthington on Hwy 60.
Cold day today and tomorrow before the warm up next week!

@g-manpuck Yep. We are snowed in. The winds are supposed to be bad the next 2 days. Not sure if we can make it to the game.

Hopefully things improve enough for you to make it.

Rosemount streets, Apple Valley streets and Hwy 77 were all great. The second I hit Mpls. the streets were black ice and more potholes since yesterday.

I remember some very beautiful St Patrick's Days back when I'd take vacation to attend the Final Five games. This is not one of those days. I am sure it is possible to have an occasional day with above average temps. We're overdue.
My wife remembers dropping me off for the Final Five tailgate on St. Patricks Day...it was a nightmare for her to navigate all the people walking around St. Paul that day. At least it was like 80 degrees that day!
@frozen4champs I see that MnDOT opened up the roads but looking at the cameras the wind is blowing pretty good making driving conditions less than ideal. Still hope for better conditions tomorrow though!

Got stuck in the road after picking wife up from work. This was after the snow plow went by an hour earlier. Ground blizzard again. Downgrading to doubtful for tomorrow. ? Our biggest issue is the mile we have to drive to get to a paved road. We have a couple of spots where the snow is piled as high as a bus and it blows shut easy.

@steve-mn They still have us with 30 mph winds tomorrow. This will be the 1st game missed in a long time due to the weather despite our long drive.

This is the road that leads to our farm. I have never seen it this bad in 40 years. So when the wind blows, it clogs easily. It is basically a 1 lane road now. Our farm is the one you see in the distance.

Is there anything wrong with letting us have average temps after a long winter? Or God forbid, above average temps?
I don't need above average temps in July/August. I need it now.
The temps would be a fair amount higher if there weren’t so much snow. Catch 22 (kind of…)
Ch 5 was showing pics from the Albert Lea area with almost no snow on the ground. Can anyone confirm if this is true?
@norm My in-laws live in northeast Iowa and they've hardly had any snow at all this winter. There hasn't been any snow on the ground for a month or more. So Albert Lea not having any snow wouldn't surprise me.
My parents drove through the area a week ago on their way back from Virginia, said they didn’t see decent snow cover until almost Faribault.
Should break the tie at 7 with snow on Wednesday. 12 days of March and all of April could bring enough snow to finish at 5th snowiest.

First day of spring means 12 hours of sunlight per day. We’re over the hump.
Now start warming up!
I am ready for some serious snow melting.
Really ready!

Unfortunately, no days with the overnight low forecast above freezing for the next week or so. Staying above freezing speeds up the melting (captain obvious). Fortunately, forcasts are in the (mostly lower) forties starting Friday.
Tampa can't come soon enough. After this storm, there is one brewing for next week..

This winter is never ending. Ice out date for Minnetonka is typically April 15.
My neighbor was out on Minnetonka on Saturday and he drilled about 15 holes and all were 3 feet deep. People are still driving trucks on Grays Bay.
Just ridiculous.

doing the Goldy Run on Sunday is gonna be a real treat
Its not just the weather on Sunday, but the weather for training has been awful. Go run on paths and half (the south ones) are full of ice or snow still. Run on the street and risk breaking an ankle in a pothole. Nobody likes to run on a treadmill.

I run 90-100 miles a month. I don’t mind the treadmill at all. I watch podcasts, tv shows, sometimes sports. There were two stories over the years about well-known people having bad injuries running and slipping on ice—Pat Miles—she slipped and her foot ended up facing the wrong way. The other was a higher-up in the Gophers sports department. Probably many others who didn’t make the news.

I've done a split between treadmill and being outside. the streets i run on in my neighborhood aren't too bad in terms of potholes or ice and snow, just not wanting to bring myself to run in the cold. i prefer pavement and concrete to see different environments but as Composer said, i get my fill of the 93x HAMS podcast when doing indoors.
April fools!??!!!?

Just peeked outside and it's coming down good here in Capital City.
So I made a Manhattan....a strong one. Cheers.

Can’t believe this incredibly AWFUL weather on March 31st. Worst winter EVER!!!
Went to get food around 7. Pouring rain when I walked in, a layer of ice from sleet 10 minutes later. Glad I’m home for the rest of the night.
Stone one? Is that an auto-correct from "strong one" ?Just peeked outside and it's coming down good here in Capital City.
