Mankato ended up with around 8-10" depending where you live in town. It was heart attack snow, wet and heavy. Roads in town were cleared pretty fast and now they are clear and dry. The DOT did a great job clearing the roads at least out to my work west of town. I think the wind is the big fact why they closed down most of the roads between Mankato to Worthington over to Blue Earth. I put in about 5 hours yesterday clearing snow at my work. I'm ready for the snow to go into hibernation now.

The snow totals from the UP & NE WI are unbelievable, most areas getting in the 30-36 inch range with some spots near Marquette, MI getting more than 45 inches of snow. Couple that with strong winds and there were massive drifts.

Nice day tomorrow, followed by rain being forecasted Sunday through Tuesday. Clears up and rain forecasted next Saturday and Sunday.
I would like to patch spots in my driveway with asphalt. And have a book sale in my driveway for all my wife’s books. 3 stale garage full of books, 3 sheds and a basement full of books!!! I only have so many tables and tarps to keep the books dry with outside.
I had. 10’x20’ canopy in my driveway Monday. Had it tied down pretty good. Was going to finish securing it Tuesday evening. Though it decided to get really windy on Tuesday before I could secure it and tore the canopy… grrr again!!!

Of course I cut my ditches during the hottest week of the year, partly because of the lack of potential rain. Not a fun job in a non air conditioned tractor.

One of the more fun volunteer/casual jobs was surveying and marking strip farming fields for a family friend farm. It was always more fun to do in the middle April compared to days like this past weekend.
My son is enrolled at a day camp in Eagan this summer. They cancelled it today. Heat is no problem, they let the kiddos swim all day. The smoke however brings a different challenge as they don’t have enough indoor space, let alone an indoor pool.
The heat in the UP is non-existent, but the haze/smoke is everywhere, infiltrating, etc. Part of it is most places don't have A/C so no air flow. Supposed to rain all day tomorrow, which will HOPEFULLY squash some of it. I'll take it at this point.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
This rain event came through in the way it was forecasted where you could have a little or a crap ton of rain. Mankato ended up with about 1.5 inches of rain. 12 miles up the road St. Peter has got over 4 inches of rain.

A few hours later and Mankato is close to 2.5 inches of rain and St. Peter is around 5.5 inches.
