I hope they don't play "It's the end of the world as we know it" on loop as one station did back in the day when they changed format. I can't remember if it was WLOL or which one it was...
Pretty sure it was the Edge 93.7 that did that in the 90s.
KQ seemed to be playing Soul Asylum's "Somebody to Shove" on repeat this morning. That is an odd choice if they are indeed copying what the Edge did.
(or is it an April Fools stunt?)
I thought it was WLOL 99.5 that did that when they flipped to classical or whatever they are.
It was when 93x was changed to The Edge in 1994

To me the categories should be
- Oldies - 50's and 60's
- Classic - mid/late 60's to early/mid 80's

Definitely cool as Queen was having a resurgence with his age group, but still old. Then he discovered I pretty much had every vinyl Queen album and wanted them. Like an early inheritance 😆

I quit listening to KOOL 108 10+ years ago, when they started playing songs that were popular when I was in high school and college (80-86). At the time, they were still referring to themselves as an "oldies" station.

So why is the Star Tribune such a poor news paper? They can not print a paper with local sports outcomes from the night game finals

Guessing lack of staffing, which means they can't push those deadline limits to the last minute anymore. Also, over the past couple of years, the paper has less content overall (prob due to the same issues). Finally, they really push their online version of the paper (paid subscription).
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

Down here we have news (on various stations) starting at 4:30 am to 7am, then 9-10am, then 11-Noon, then noon to 1230, then 4-7 pm, and from 9-1030pm. They only cover sports during the 9 and 10pm news. One company owns the local Fox, NBC and ABC stations and it is one newsroom, while the local CBS station is still the juggernaut. I mostly watch the local news for the weather. The local CBS station has 5 weatherman employed, which I think is a bit much.

I totally agree. I’m thinking it’s cheaper to produce another news show than it is to pay syndication rights for national shows.
Love NFL red zone some issues that I do not like the host spends to much time talking and when they do a split screen showing 2 games at the same time they have the screen with a orange box around the games being shown, they should just increase the games view being shown with out the orange box

Per the report, eight teams’ telecasts will be impacted by the changes: the Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs of the NBA, and the Minnesota Wild, Carolina Hurricanes and Nashville Predators of the NHL. Man that’s a big loss for KFAN with swedberg moving on. He’s a huge reason for their success.
Not local, but RIP MTV/etc. If you're around my age, that was a generational game-changer. My parents, knowing how much I loved music, let me stay up to see their true debut. I think I watched that channel more than ANY other channel/sportsball growing up.
