If worst comes to worst and all three of Faber/Johnson/Lacombe leave, the two Krygier brothers would at least add some physicality next year. But doubt we need two D from the portal. Just one probably.

1) I would not put any money of the Lucius boys being at the “U” next year. And for not entering the portal yet?!?!?! Why would Chaz enter before the Gophers season is over. Why miss out on all fun right now.
2) Billy Hengen last year at SCSU (2005-2006) was Motzko first year at SCSU. He also was the head coach at Holy Angels for a couple years after Greg Trebil retired.

Entering the portal doesn't immediately sever your ties with the team, yet I don't think he's traveling with the team anyway is he? Regardless I don't envision any reason for him to wait to enter the portal if his mind is made up on leaving. We shall see.

The only piece so far is the Twitter reply to Vegoe about the foot injury from someone very close to the family. We've taken that ball and ran right down the fucking field with it.

I just posted what little I know of the guy. As well as my opinion on the Lucius boys. I'm not saying they'll be here or not next year. I just wouldn't put money on it. I have about the same bit of inside knowledge on the matter as 99% on this site... which is nothing.

Small sample size but wow stats haha. Also 6'3".
Seven of his nine starts were against teams that didn't play hockey last year. The other two were against St. Lawrence, who doesn't really play hockey ever.

Question: Jackson Jutting (just an example) is listed as having 3 seasons left on the portal page. He was at CC 20-21 and 21-22. He doesn't get the fifth year of play option, right? Shouldn't it be 2 seasons left?

It is my understanding that anyone who played during the covid years gets a free year. So, 20-21 doesn't count for him, and that leaves him with 3 years left. Same for Almquist from Duluth for example. He has played 3 years already, but can play 2 more. It is going to take a couple of more years to flush those out.

20-21 was included because it was a limited schedule. Most conferences did not play a non-conference schedule, many schools missed games due to Covid, and some schools cancelled their season altogether (mostly the Ivy League schools, but also Union and RPI).

The link doesn't mention anything about an extra "Covid year" for the players, but when you look at the standings for each conference, you can see the disparity in the number of games played by each team. Example: in the B1G, the number of games played varied from 18 (Penn State) to 24 (Wisconsin and Notre Dame).

One of Moe or Rowe have to be leaving...
The BADgers tried this a few years ago by bringing in a good goalie from out east ( Hayton ?) and he was not good. They are a mess. Logic would say Rowe would leave since Moe took over in the 2nd half. But, Moe can't be too happy if they are bringing in a guy who could split time with him next year or 2 if Moe uses a covid year.
