Transfer Portal

Just curious in the portal. If you click on the date would it list the players by date. And if you clicked on first, last or college, would it list them in abc order.

Same comment here. I was able to sort by the school somehow a couple times but I can't recreate how to do that consistently.

It's a free plugin right now only showing the first 20 rows. I will get the full version when I am done with work. So I will have more options on the page once I get the paid version.

I think the Whioux are fortunate that the hockey portal/extra covid year is around. I feel the way they recruited and the fact they lost a ton of players to the pros last year, they would have been in really bad shape this year. The portal allows them to fill in their holes until their recruiting classes catch back up. It worked for them this year, but I much prefer they way the Gophers approach constructing a roster. Use recruits first and fill in with a player or 2 to round it out.

I hope Stejskal, Eisele, or Glockner enter the portal and the Gophers pick them up, if not someone even better.

lol…why would Zach Stejskal enter the transfer portal? Everyone doesn’t just bail when facing adversity? He & Fanti will be together at least one more season after this one.

Well he isn't in the portal yet so he must have some inside info on what his plans are. So more than likely ends up in Grand Forks.

Something to remember for the portal. Any why as soon as our season is over don't be shocked to see all our guys who aren't going pro in there.

Now I'm confused. If this Hengen guy is correct what is the big deal about all this? Not directing this at you specifically Vegs but can we get some straight commentary for once?

My uneducated opinion is this - if the guy has been ruled out to play again this season and he wants to leave you'd think he'd already be in the portal. I mean why wait at this point?

He is/was the coach for Gentry and coached the Lucius boys for many years. I’d be very confident in his knowledge of the situation. My hunch is that Bob believed the injury was not as significant as Lucius and his family did. As many have mentioned or assumed, his parents have very strong opinions and they likely didn’t sync with Bobs. Maybe he could have finished the season and got surgery after, but that’s not what the family believed was the right move.

I saw Lucius in the concourse one game and he didn’t have any sort of noticeable brace and seemed to be walking fine so maybe some players would have tried to push through the injury.

I’d still be surprised if the Lucius boys aren’t here next year. Cruz signed his NLI so he’s tied to here unless Bob releases him and I’m sure they want to play together one more year.

I could see Brinkman trying for a 5th year somewhere else.

Lucius skated with the team in full gear when they clinched the BigTen title at Mariucci. But I think his parents are very much involved in all of this.

Yep, they probably feel there was potential for long term affects and they didn’t want to risk it. Bob is a blue collar guy and likely didn’t feel like this was a team first mindset.

Yes. It is well known that they will do almost anything for their boys. They “had” to start Gentry because their city wouldn’t allow them to build a full fledged hockey arena on their property.

To me the weird part is neither Lucius kid actually played for the MSHL Gentry team. I think they both played for the AAA team before they disbanded once the MSHL team was formed.

They knew they had a bigger stage they could be showcased on with the national development team.

It didn't feel like either of them really played many games with that team though due to injuries and such.

Fish will be key for our defense next year. Absolutely not.

Both Lucius will be here next year. Just looks kind of bad from an outsider's perspective and has been blown out of proportion on this site.
