This Michigan vs Wisconsin game is wildly entertaining. Michigan just brings it within one making it 4-3 Wisconsin with 14:56 left to play. Does Wisconsin pull it out or do they choke it away?
5-3 Wisconsin but Michigan is about to go to the PP. I will say this, Wisconsin is great. But from the little bit I watched it looks like Michigan thought they could win off of talent alone. I think we’re a better team than Michigan but next week won’t be a cakewalk. If we play our game we’ll be fine. But we can’t get sucked into the emotions of the rivalry or take anything for granted.
Both teams were called for 8 penalties. All of UMD's were minors. 7 of the CC penalties were minors with 1 major. so duluth actually had the advantage in penalties. All goals were scored at 5 on 5. That guy is an idiot
DirecTv sports pack has BADgers vs Michigan, CC vs DUHluth, Denver vs ASU and BU vs UNH. Lots of college hockey on.
As much of a hassle it can be to rush home for 5:30 Gopher games, it was fun to get tonight's game over with so early so I could spend the rest of the evening flipping between later games while I trim my maroon and gold Christmas tree.

Duluth gets shut out at home by CC. They now have been shut out 4 times this season including twice by CC and once by Wisconsin. They are tied for 43rd in goals per game which is rather fitting since they are #42 in Pairwise.
@karlsson That sounds right since #9 Havard won in a 3 on 3 overtime so only a 2/3 win and #10 Connecticut lost so they both likely dropping behind Michigan State when their games went final after the Sparty/Gopher game was already final.
PWR is silly before January or February, but it is fun I’ll give you that. Sparty was 10, lost 5-0, is now 8.
I think Sparty was 6th in the pairwise before the game tonight.
Maybe they were 10 after losing, then moved back up as other games went final.
Easily could be... until all the inter-conference games have been played, PWR is only high-level guidance. After that until late February/Early March, it's a more detailed guide, but one that is still missing a lot of information. It's not until the last week or so of the season that anything really matters. Yes, you can remove some teams from being possible at-large bids by early February, but generally, nobody can lock into an at-large until then at the earliest, and 3-4 slot moves after a single game are common until the conference tournaments, and even then, aren't all that rare.
DU wins 3-2 on a crazy goal that was batted off the glove of an ASU player. It looked like the Denver player hit it in with a high stick, but was ruled that the ASU player hit in in the net with his glove. The refs reviewed it twice and that took about 15 minutes.
Insiders here in Kato are saying that Hastings is not happy with his team and the leadership group right now. After that loss last night I don't think he is going to let things stay status quo for very much longer. People like Dan Myers like to point to injuries as a big reason but really the Mavs only have two they are dealing with and if that upsets the apple cart then they are in big trouble for the season.

Maybe their goalies need to take more "supplements". ?
I was recently informed by a GPLer that I'm related to Airey
UMD may have to win the NCHC tournament to make it in to the NCAA tournament this year. They usually do much better in the 2nd half of the season. MN State and North Dakota may also end up having to win their tournaments. 3 teams that are usually locks to make it are struggling so far this year.

UMD has always been about D and goaltending. Credit to them for getting it done with that formula at the right time in the last 10 years but that route definitely doesn't give you much room for error either. The law of averages will eventually catch up.
From the 2018 & 2019 teams, respectively…9 players have seen more than a few games of NHL ice time: Kuhlman, Joey Anderson, Mikey Anderson, Samberg, Perunovich, Tufte, Jackson Cates, Noah Cates, Koepke…and while their post season success helped them land some top recruits like Dominic James, Isaac Howard, Connor Kelley & Wyatt Kaiser…they’re definitely in a rebuilding mode this season and have struggled to score goals (literally) since Perunovich turned pro…and what Hammy noted above plays into it too..
I checked on the collegehockey reddit... Sounds like there was a Boarding that kicked it off, then in the scrum afterward, NMU got the roughing and 5minute Facemasking.
It’s 6-3 Cloud now. ENG with a little over two minutes left.
Whatever Tier 4 outfit is producing this game for TV would be smart to remain live during the handshake line
