Are we supposed to trust Jess Myers’ NHL/Wild sources? 😆
Wow looking at the portal - several teams with almost a dozen guys looking to transfer.
Not much program loyalty anymore these days I guess. I don’t like it. Get used to seeing teams having an entirely new makeup year after year. That does not seem to be a good recipe for growing and building a good team, when the dynamic constantly changes. Granted this moreso affects the smaller schools, but yikes.
Frank Seravalli on the Hawks pregame show said he expects the Whioux's Sasha Boisvert to play hockey out east next year closer to home.

Watching UConn PSU and my lord can we please get games back on campus? And for anyone who thinks home ice doesn’t matter, PSU getting a massive advantage from the juice of the crowd tonight

It seems the GoCats will be a team full of guys in their first year in Marquette for eternity.
AIC I get, though. 😞
The situation is: be a 2nd or 3rd liner on a big time school, or be the superstar at a smaller school/get more exposure (theoretically) to advance your career....

This Penn State - Connecticut game is fantastic.
Penn State comes through for the BIG! The Russian goalie for PSU played AMAZING!
Rats. UConn really carried the third and OT, but it doesn’t matter.

Who had Penn State on their bracket to go to St Louis? Anyone??

It’d be poetic if the first B1G team to win the national championship was the team that caused the B1G to form.
Oh, and I hate poetry.
I actually did haha, mostly because they’re at home practically and nobody else in that bracket looked particularly amazing combined with PSU’s strong second half.Who had Penn State on their bracket to go to St Louis? Anyone??
I also had Mich State winning it all so can’t win ‘em all 😀
DU is so in bcs head right now
Lol at that blatant interference and the commentators immediately mentioning that these are big ten refs 🤣

I had them as well…
I would've laughed if they reviewed that play and found something to overturn the PSU goal and the PSU player was given a penalty for throwing his stick into the crowd, and UConn win on the power-play.
Keep your stick on the ice...

Funny, they were the bubble team that started the season 0-9. And they were overshadowed by MSU, MN, and even OSU.
They came in with nothing to lose like they were playing with house money.
Both teams had great chances and it was a great play to end the game.
A chip, a chair, and a chance.

BC finally scores on Matt Davis.
That's a huge goal for BC.
BC finally gets the be against DU.

He lifted his stick when the puck was there. I wish that was still allowed, honestly. Most times called a hook at the NHL level now for the brief moment the stick is parallel to the ice and near their hands.
Denver is going to run it back aren’t they?

lol… BC…
Keep your stick on the ice...
For as much as people rip the U for not winning one in this window, BC yet again bounced despite all their first rounders
As a Wild fan I was cheering for BC.

Zeev salutes the BC bench. I can’t wait to get this kid in St. Paul.
Denver doesn’t need any more titles.
I’m okay with the big ten and/or a team who has never won a title being the last one standing. 😬

I’m cool with Denver winning another one if it means carle is bored and moves on to the nhl
Out of curiosity, I checked the Denver roster to see where they get their players. 8 canadiens, 5 from California, 5 from Minnesota. 3 from Colorado.
Denver to Frozen Four! Davis was 💵 F—K Boston College! 2 NCHC, 1 BIG, 1 Hockey East teams in St Louis on April 10th. And…most importantly…Zeev is a future MN Wild NHL Star!
Anyone but BU at the Frozen 4.
1) Denver: Pisses off Michigan fans more, but another notch for the NCHC.
2) Westen: Another notch for the NCHC.
3) PSU: It’s a notch for the BIG.

which is 100% why I don’t care where they’re from. Get the best players you can. When you’re winning nattys, no one gives a shit if they’re from the home state or not and that would 100% also apply here
@upnorthkid 100% agree. This idea that gophers should only take minnesota kids has not proven overly successful.
I can't believe that Denver went into a defensive shell that third period and still won. Shots were 15-2. Carle should be fired for coaching his team that way!
Maybe Carle gets bored and comes to the Gophers just to prove it can still be done here.Denver doesn’t need any more titles.

Eff Denver winning another unless it leads the Wild to hiring Carle.
Making that much stick contact near a guys hands is generally called at the NHL level and he hauled him down to boot, I think that should've been called. There was also a really blatant interference right in front of the refs that got missed earlier in the game as well as that trip on the icing. Can't say I was surprised when I heard it's a B1G crew.He lifted his stick when the puck was there. I wish that was still allowed, honestly. Most times called a hook at the NHL level now for the brief moment the stick is parallel to the ice and near their hands.
I felt like BC deserved better in that one, they controlled the entire third period and were unlucky to be playing catchup in the first place. They ran out of time though and Denver did a really good job of shutting it down despite their limited possession.

That's the kind of game the Gophers lose. BC was loaded but as we've seen past Minnesota teams, that's not the most important thing.
I wish the Gophers were losing games more along those lines in these past tourneys, I'd be more inclined to believe they're close to figuring it out if that were the case. But the games against Michigan, Mankato, BU, and Q seemed more like those teams were in the driver seat more often than not and our goalies gave up a softie here and there that we never got. That'd be the type of game this team loses to Notre Dame though lol.Making that much stick contact near a guys hands is generally called at the NHL level and he hauled him down to boot, I think that should've been called. Look at BC and Sparty. Those 2 teams were the top 2 teams most of the year, and their expectations were Frozen 4 Championship or bust. In fact, BC was the #1 overall seed in the tourney the last 2 years, winning 27 and 34 games. BC had Will Smith, Cutter Gauthier, Leonard, Perreault, Fowler, Hagens, Stiga, Powell Etc. Sparty had Howard, Stramel, Augustine, Levshunov, Dorwart, Savage Etc.
I can imagine those fans had expectations equal to or higher than we had. It just shows you that it is tough to win a 1 and done tourney, no matter how much talent you have.

Part of it is Denver is constructed in a way that they’re comfortable playing tight checking, low scoring games…it’s not as pretty to watch during the regular season compared to the free wheeling style Gopher & BC constructed teams tend to play with multiple 1st & 2nd round NHL picks, but come playoff time when refs let them play more and don’t call penalties as tight, it pays off for them.Making that much stick contact near a guys hands is generally called at the NHL level and he hauled him down to boot, I think that should've been called. Add to that Zeev Buium is a generational D1 offensive defenseman with 98 career points & counting in his first two seasons, which outpaces both Makar & Perunovich in their first two D1 seasons …with Davis being dialed in (in goal) during the postseason & it’s no surprise Denver’s vying for another Natty. Thank the Good Lord the Wild got lucky & Buium fell to them!
