lol Well it’s 11.5 to 4.5 and because the Euros won in Rome they only need to get to 14 to retain the Ryder Cup. That means to get to 14.5 (to win the Ryder Cup) the 🇺🇸 team needs to win by a score of 10-2 in singles play on Sunday. That ain’t happening. lmao!
One last tidbit: Incredibly, World #1 ranked player Scottie Scheffler has lost all four of his sessions in the 2025 Ryder Cup. He is the first player to go 0-4-0 through the first two days in modern Ryder Cup history (since 1979), per golf statistician Justin Ray.
It actually turned into a really FUN day to watch golf, once the Viking game ended. Wasn’t really any prayer of going 10-2, especially after Hovland couldn’t go, so based on a very archaic rule, his match vs Harris English was counted as a ALL SQUARE half point for each team. I mean, it’s golf not 🏈 or puck, if you can’t go in your Sunday singles match, you should have to forfeit the entire point. And Harris was forced to sit out, which had to brutally suck (for him). But that ruling immediately made it 12-5, with Euros only needing 2 points to retain the trophy. So the fact the USA held them off until late in the afternoon was incredible. World #3 ranked player Russell Henley had mid length putts on both 17 & 18 to DAGGER Lowry, but unfortunately missed both. Certainly wud have been exciting if it came down to the last 3 matches with Euros peeing down their collective legs. 🇺🇸 showed a boat load of heart & fight Sunday. And………at least Scottie BEAT Rory! 🇺🇸

was a great day of golf and almost an incredible comeback. Don't know if it was so much "peeing down their legs" as the US actually (finally) hitting some damn putts. Cam Young was awesome all weekend (he should've played Friday AM as well). Bryson had a crazy tear to comeback. Schauffle smoked Rahm. Rory-Scottie was some real poor golf from them both, but that has to be exhausting with all the pressure on the two of them.
As far as the envelope rule, you feel bad for English, though he got his ass kicked in both his matchups prior. we didn't complain when we got to use it in 91 (we won 14.5-13.5 and Europe would've retained had they tied). you assume this is not malicious, though it sure would've added a ton of intrigue had it ended 14 all.

I generally like Rory a lot…but when he crossed the walking bridge post match that listed some of the 🇺🇸 team members last names & then draped the Euro Flag over Dechambeau name, I thought that was BUSH LEAGUE & demonstrated that perhaps Bryson lives rent free in Rory’s head! I don’t think any of the Euros ever actually peed down their leg on Sunday, only Rahm got beat decisively (by AZander…but if Bryson had birdied 18 and won a full point after trailing by 5 with 11 holes remaining & if Cantlay had beaten Aberg, the drama regarding whether they’d of literally peed down their legs in the final 3 matches would have been interesting & entertaining! lol

i think that part is more the history between them and that Bryson said he'd be chirping Rory all weekend.
Is part of what makes the Ryder Cup fun. Hopefully we can beat them in Ireland next time out (and this may end up having to be a bucket list request weekend from the significant other if I could somehow get lucky enough to get tickets int he lottery). All in all a fun weekend and you hope in 2029 Minnesotans are a little more creative in their razzing than just yelling fuck you at the Euros.
Watching the end of the WM Open tonight. Absolutely gutted for Matsuyama, ugh... trouble hitting fairways, and clearly mentally struggling as well, he didn't need any help from the fans. Has to back off a putt on 18 for some dummy. The the next hole, the playoff hole, he has to stop MID-SWING! for some dumb@$$. These people need to be permanently banned from PGA events. This is getting so stupid. Go watch the LIVers with their 'loud golf', and shut your pie hole on the PGA tour events.
So he stops mid-swing, and tries to reset, then snap-hooks it into the pond to just about give it away. Yes, Gotterup hit a clutch birdie and played a phenomenal final round while Matsuyama struggled, especially on the closing stretch. But those two "fans" made it more about them that Chris' come from behind victory.
Rory just went birdie, birdie, par, birdie, birdie, birdie, birdie to cap the back 9. 6 round lead going into day 3. The LARGEST 36 hole Master's lead ever. Wild

Unless a miracle happens, it's Rory. Yesterday they were saying meltdown, I was saying "He's making others play 'up' to him." Same thing today. It's hard to keep taking chances and attacking for 2 days straight, you're going to make mistakes. Rory just kept his constant pace, played it safe, played it like he had that big lead.

The clutch chip on 16 I believe was definitely huge and then coming out of the trees on 18 to hold on. Pretty cool. Not a specific fan of anyone just fun to watch.

I'm not a fan of anyone in particular, and in general, I just watch the majors and the players championship. This year's Masters' with THAT many in the mix on a Sunday...that's an easy choice to watch.

It’s nice to see someone FINALLY challenge Scotty for #1 in the World ⛳️ he’s held that spot for 3-4 years. It’s what Rory had been capable of doing the past decade & now he’s doing it.
Nice to see Rory keep it together and bounce back after blowing the 6 shot lead yesterday.
About as entertaining of a final round as you could ask for. Seems like Scheffler almost always makes a push on Sunday at the majors.
Really feels like now besides Rahm and Bryson all of the best players are on the PGA tour again. A combination of younger guys emerging and the LIV players games deteriorating after not playing competitive golf in 4-5 years now.
Rory didn't blow a 6 shot lead. He had the players on the attack, and he played it safe, until he felt he could attack a hole. He held steady, and frankly, attacking for a couple days will take its toll. This is why you saw the 5-6 player shuffle on Sunday, for the players that were NOT in the lead. Rory held steady, and came out on top. The "choking" theme for Saturday's round bothered me. Rory played it smart.

I wouldn't exactly say he played it safe or held steady. Did you see how many greens he missed and tee shots he sprayed all over the place? He barely held it together and if Scheffler would have been able to make 1 more birdie I think Rory would have crumbled.
Suggesting Rory shot 73 on Saturday because he was playing it safe might make sense if it was a 54 Hole tournament. He may have played a bit risk adverse. I’ll give you that, but it was more he got off to a slow start, bogeying the 1st hole, and was just a little off fir the day, like Scotty was on Friday.But credit to Rory, he briefly last the lead on Sunday, then birdied 12, a hole that essentially derailed Jordan Spieth’s career trajectory, and then made a clutch birdie on 13 and several par saves down the stretch. And similar to Tiger in 2019, he built a 2 stroke lead standing on the 18th tee& only needed a bogey to win, which he did fairly comfortably. Hence, it appears Scottie now has someone to challenge him at the Majors & for the #1 World Ranking, which Scottie has held for several years, and is good for golf.
That stinks, loved watching the two HI tourneys and questioning life choices, 😉 particularly the Kapalua tourney.
