Not blitzing Nix on that third and 11 late in the 4th imo was a mistake, he faked a blitz and then dropped every LB back in coverage and yet Sutton and the receivers had a huge advantage on the DBs who couldn’t get back to cover. The blitz also worked really well the play before and Nix just threw it away immediately. And Allen was making good throws late but then Hardman just screwed up his route and dropped it. Cooks had one where he just stopped running and maybe could’ve made a play but he’s just not an above average receiver these days. Knox I wanna say barely missed one too on a decent throw. There was also a play where Shakir just totally missed his assignment, tried to play left guard for a bit, and messed up his actual left guard which resulted in a sack, that was a total disaster. I felt like Allen did his job that game, the defense definitely didn’t and his lack of receiver help eventually cost them. Kincaid and his TE’s were his best weapons when they passed.
Also one thing I wasn’t sure of was why that interception where both guys came down with it didn’t at least get reviewed. That was a really close play in OT that probably deserved a second look by the refs, not saying it was for sure wrong but tie typically goes to the receiver and he might’ve been down so that was interesting.
A little of both, SF’s only real chance was McCaffrey having a big game, and they would just stuff him for no gain frequently. That defense is probably the best in the NFL. But also yeah SF was gonna struggle without Kittle and all the injuries on D.Seattle can’t be this good right? Niners have a ton of injuries. I have friends that are Hawks fans and they would love to win a SB in the Niners stadium. No love lost.

Cooks never controlled it and even if he did he would have had to control it all the way to the ground which he obviously didn’t. Not even close to a catch and Cooks knew it.

Their RT was hurt, that's not even getting into the fact that Mixon and Tank Dell had been injured before the season began. Still that was not a good performance by CJ Stroud he didn't have much to work with and made some nice throws here and there but he also made some absolutely ridiculous mistakes.
That NE corner was Houston’s best weapon, I thought this game is gonna make history with that, turnovers and defense.

Houston had the worst offensive line in football at the beginning of the year but they actually came together and became ok overall enough to give them a decent offense to go along with that insane defense. Woody Marks helped them a lot. I haven’t heard much about Dell’s recovery but really hope he gets all the way back. Gruesome injury last year and really like him.
