Bills get a 2nd round pick 2025 (Via MN)
Texans get Diggs, 2024 6th and 2025 5th
I am not a great NFL trade mind but that seems a bit light on the Bills' side.
Boy that trade keeps looking better and better for the Vikes.

Diggs, Collins, Dell? Stroud is smiling
Until he throws more passes to Dell and Diggs starts to throw a fit like he has in his previous 2 spots. There is a reason that a very talented player gets moved twice and it is not because he is a great teammate. The first year will be great, but look out after that because we all know how it ends. He is a very talented player, but...

Diggs fell off the planet after week 6 last year. He had two total TDs in the last 10 weeks of the season and averaged about 4 catches for 40-50 yards. That's not what you want to be paying $35M per year for.
He did get 87 yards in the last game of the season. But before that he had 26, 29, 48, 24, 74, 27, 34 yards. Yeesh.
Was he hurt or did he he a wall?
@bertogliat They changed offensive coordinators and ran James Cook to be more a more balanced offense plus Dalton Kincaid was Josh Allen’s safety blanket, they like the tight end. No question about Diggs’ talent but he WAS a Viking for a reason. I really like Houston and what they’ve done there I just see him being a coin flip risk. He can take them to the big game or be a total headache. Time will tell.
Good for them. I wish results like this happened more often. Not picking on the Bills, but they are getting $850 million yet the owner is worth $5.8 billion or something
Hoping the @the-rube is doing ok
I hope the Bills have a plan. They better have a plan. WR1 and WR2 from last year are gone? Jawsh is really good, but he still needs weapons.

I think the Bills are gonna be better off, the draft is loaded with talented wideouts. Curtis Samuel is a solid wr and now has a better qb. I look for him to have a good year if he stays healthy. The pressure on Allen to keep diggs happy is off of him now and is probably breathing a big sigh of relief. The Texans were fine without diggs so that relationship is gonna be interesting to watch.
Very telling how much BUF was willing to eat to get Diggs out of their locker room. You would think he might figure out that 2 teams have now done that and he’s the problem but he most likely won’t.
@bigbeer Oh they never do. Just like people on their third marriage by 40 never think it’s them. Or folks fired from their 7-8-9th job never think it’s them. Or college players (fill in any sport) on their third school never think it’s them. 🙄
Note: Due to inflation dirty deeds will no longer be done dirt cheap.
You would think he might figure out that 2 teams have now done that and he’s the problem but he most likely won’t.
Like the people that talk about how all their exes are toxic. They never admit the common denominator is themselves.
He’d likely be the first “diva” wide receiver to have figured that out if he did.

OJ didn’t meet Nicole in Buffalo.
The Atlanta Falcons with a surprise pick take QB Michael Penix Jr with the 8th overall pick.
That should leave McCarthy available if the Vikings want him. The key is they didn’t move up and throw away picks

whoa. Over pay for Kirk and pull that.
Did we move up from 23 to 10 as soon as I said we didn’t?
We must have been worried about LV and DEN jumping ahead of us
The Vikings trade with the New York Jets and take QB JJ McCarthy with the 10th overall pick.
Kid announcing the pick has an epic mullet.
Has to be a good sign, no?

I can’t decide if the Vikings fans at the draft are the nerdiest ones there or the least nerdy ones there
I really don’t get why you sign Cousins to a mega multi year contract and then pass up taking the best defensive player in the draft when it’s your need to take your backup QB.
With the 12th overall pick the Denver Broncos pick QB Bo Nix.
6 of the first 12 picks have been QBs.
12 picks in and no defensive players taken
12 picks in and no defensive players taken
13. This is good for the Vikings as there should be an impact defensive player available at 23.
I guess if Harbaugh thinks McCarthy is really that good then it’s the right pick, we’ll see.
A defensive player is finally selected. The Colts with the 15th pick.
The first 14 picks were 6 QBs, 4 offensive tackles, 3 WRs, and 1 TE. All guys associated with the passing game.
The Vikings trade with Jacksonville for the 17th pick and select Edge Rusher/LB Dallas Turner (Alabama)
Turner is perfect for Flores system and he wasn’t gonna be there at 23.
Are they going to let us know what we traded to move up twice?
are the Vikings done drafting this year?

A 4 and 5 to move up 1 spot to get McCarthy. Should have stayed at 11 and took Nix.

The two trades were:
The Vikings send pick 11, 129 and 157 to New York Jets in exchange for the 10th pick and the 203th pick.
The Vikings acquired the 17th pick from the Jacksonville Jaguars gaving up the 23rd pick, 2024 fifth-round pick, and third and fourth-round picks in 2025.
The Vikings in the 2024 draft currently have left a 4th round pick, two 6th round picks, and two 7th round picks.
The 2nd round pick was part of the trade a month ago with the Texans to get the 2nd first round pick. The 3rd round pick was part of the trade with Lions a year and a half ago to get T.J. Hockenson.
Weird to see the Vikings be the most aggressive team in the draft after so many years of Trade Down Spielman

It was a late 4th round and a late 5th round getting back a late 6th round.
The Vikings clearly valued JJ McCarthy more than Bo Nix.
There were multiple mock draft by "experts" who had the Vikings trading with the Chargers to take McCarthy at 5 giving up both 1st round pick this season and 2025 1st round pick.
I'm glad they were able to get JJ while not having to give up any where near that much.
JJ to JJ & TJ (plus Addison)

Yeah for years Vikings fans criticized Spielman for trading down and picking up extra picks so now it will be fun watching Vikings fans criticize Kwesi for trading up and giving up extra picks.
Either way GMs get criticized.

Nix just had the most accurate passing season in college football history, seems prefect for KOCs system. There’s question about his arm strength but some of the best QBs in history had average arm strength.
How good will JJ be when he doesn't know exactly what play the other team is going to run?

True but he also was a bust at Auburn. Obviously time will tell who ends up being better (McCarthy or Nix) but I am cool with the trade up to make sure they got JJ. It would be fun to know if another team (Broncos, Raiders, etc.) were interested in trading with the Jets to move above us to take McCarthy.
If the New York Jets would have kept the pick and selected McCarthy since Aaron Rodgers is 40 years old coming off a serious injury it would have been interesting to see Aaron Rodgers' reaction - Jordan Love pick part 2. 🤣
The Jets are going to need to draft a QB one of the these years soon.

Seems like he’s feeling some pressure to hit on more draft picks. Both of these picks have some risk so we’ll see how it pans out.
4 edge rushers have now been picked 15, 17, 19, and 21.
Trading up from #23 to #17 allowed us to get the edge rusher we wanted rather than all of them being gone when we picked at #23.
