Clearly a 5 minute butt ending to the head and a DQ by Manson instead they give him only a 4 minute double minor and let him stay in the game.
The Wild score 2:39 into the double minor (which ends the penalties) so the Wild get screwed out of 2:21 of power play time they should have had.
The Avs should be down to only 5 defensemen for nearly the whole game. Can't get a fair shake from the refs even at home.
Now the refs miss a too many men on the ice penalty. Sure must be nice to have the refs on your side.

Yeah that was such a dumb penalty by Manson and should've been a lot worse in term of the consequences, they would've had to skate 5 Dmen all night. I don't know if that's what he meant to do but either way it was incredibly reckless.

Faber gets cross checked in the back with the Avs on the power play resulting in the Avs stealing possession and scoring to tie the game at 1.
I'm less concerned with the refs and more concerned with the Wild's lack of interest in creating scoring chances.

Thats pretty much any player skating to the penalty box. I would bet 60-70% of the time, the player complains and whines, skating to the penalty box.

The only one playing like this isn't a letdown game is Wallstedt.
The team needs to be better than Colorado for one period. The Avs know if they win this game, they'll win the series. The Wild better play like they know this, too.

Completely agree. The drop off of contribution from our D corps when Hughes, Faber, or Spurgeon isn’t on the ice is all too apparent. Then those three get exhausted and the outcome is, well, what we just witnessed.
I wouldn't be so bummed about this series if we actually had two of our better players...
Wally and Hughes the only guys who looked like they gave it their all. Everyone else way too passive and looking for someone else to get it done, score a goal, take a hit, etc.

That Middleton and Bogosain shift for the third goal is just embarassing. What a sad, sad lack of effort and timidness in a playoff game. a TIED playoff game. AT HOME!!!
They stopped playing for almost the entire 2nd period, allowing CO to take over. Then it was a bad play by Bogo to seal their fate. It's too bad because that's the kind of game Minnesota wins more than loses.
The probability of winning 3 straight is pretty much nil, so I'll bid the team good night and good season
It's actually impressive that they managed to make a game of it with Hughes being the only one to even come close to showing up. Bottom 6 almost got it done. Wallstedt kept them in it when they went dead in the 2nd, but the game winner was just a brutal goal to give up.
Barring a miracle this thing ends in a few days in Colorado. Even if they show some pride and win game five I don’t see them winning three straight. Colorado is just too good and too locked in for that to happen. Tough enough when we’re missing two of our best players. Even tougher when half of our roster decides to go missing tonight as well.
Ugh. Just a few takes for what it’s worth. It took a skilled move and skate ability by Hughes to make a perfect pass to strum against this team and we just don’t have enough of that skill depth. Too many forced passes into the slot when it’s one on 3 then instead of hitting the net or getting it in deep and out working them. Avs won a hell of a lot of loose puck races they lost the last game. Wild were just over matched and Wally kept it obtainable until the breakdowns were too much forced by the relentless Avs forecheck against sub par defensemen. Colorado is just dam good and have the speed to create their space to force the wild too deep where as they were constantly able to pressure us up high when we would get ozone possession. Stressful and frustrating. We didn’t hit them for 60 minutes like in game 3 either.

Problem is both of these players are injury prone. Best ability is availability.
Getting killed down the middle of the ice as expected. There’s no sweeper there to clean up messes other than when Hughes is on the ice like you see the leagues top centers do. Ek would help, but Colorado’s center depth was always going to cause us fits, and they even have surplus centers playing wing.
they’re the best team in the league by far. It’s been pretty apparent and was going to take playing well and some luck to beat them. We’ll see what happens, but given they lost 3 games in a row once all year, looks like another flame out

I think the Wild have some of the core members of an elite team in KK, Boldy, Hughes, and Faber. JEE might be part of that if he can stay healthy this time of year, beyond that they really need to bolster their depth.

Boldy is on cusp of superstar status, but Yurov is 3rd line & JoJo is a healthy scratch on a contender. Vlady was once a star, and has had a great year for the $ paid him, but his wheels are GONE. Every other forward is a 4th liner or scratch on a contender.

Agree 💯 %. Brodin is made of Glass and Erik Ek can’t make a power turn (in the playoffs) without injuring himself…both going on 3-4 years now! lol

I stopped reading after KK is a superstar. Gets paid like one but doesn’t play like one. Doesn’t drive play at all. He’s a passenger.
@snowcool08 I get your frustration, but KK is an “edges” player, he’s never going to drive play tearing threw the neutral zone like McD, McK, Cell, Eikel, and a few others. But he has superstar hands, edges, shooting & playmaking skills. And…for God Sakes he’s playing on line with Hart Rat & old man Zuccy…neither are top 6 forwards on any other playoff team.
