There were a few moments a Wild player could have been better there, but I see Middleton taking away a pass hoping his goalie doesn’t go down early.
If they end up losing this game they 100% earned the L, disallowed goal or not.
This has gone the hapless Minnesota sports route.
If it sticks to the script, their season will end in minutes, not days.
I can't fault Wallstedt for any of the goals. If you're willing to give one of the best players in the world an uncontested shot from 10 feet, he just might score. Percentage-wise the butterfly covers more open space, but it leaves a little pocket between the ear hole and the corner of the net. The guys we WANT to shoot, both look to make a pass in OT... Really? Especially a pass to McCarron? I rather have Boldy take a shot from the corner than McCarron shoot from the slot. Where is the killer instinct? That is why people yell SHOOT all the time because we are too busy trying to pass the puck, looking for the perfect shot, rather than just getting pucks on net.
