I’m really hopeful this is a sign Hughes is starting to gel more. He’s been a minutes monster so far but points had been so so by his lofty standards and come in major binges
he has 2 games with 7 assists and 4 points in his other 8. Now 7 points in his last 4. Hopefully sign the pp is going to come back online as they’ll need it with the Kings who play a much stingier game coming up twice

Between periods Gorg mentioned the coaches told him the team gave up too many odd man situations and they were reportedly pretty upset about that. They felt that the chances Anaheim got were a result of the Wild not playing their game. As soon as the puck dropped to start the second, the team returned to its disciplined structure, and everything changed.
The addition of Hughes has added a spark but it's also gotten a few players outside their guardrails. They're figuring it out and in the end will be a much better team.
What I especially liked about last night was the depth scoring. Aside from KK's power play rebound goal, the goals came from down the line up. The defense has been setting up scoring opportunities, which is what the Gophers have lacked this season.

Minnesota was chasing all night. I said a few games ago Kaprisov looks a little off...his passing has been a little sloppy and he looks a step slower. He's still one of the best players on the ice, but he hasn't been the best version of himself.
The Kings play a heavy, physical game that can wear down an opponent. They play a lot like Minnesota does. There wasn't much time or space out there and when the puck gets turned over, players like Kempe and Fiala can hurt you.
I just hope they beat Keumper on Monday. For some reason, I've never been a fan...plus he has a punch-me face.

Going 3-1-2 so far is a solid road trip, especially if they can get a win Thursday night vs Kraken. Then when they get home Friday morning at around 6am, they can’t take a breather and promptly lay an egg vs Islanders Saturday night.

3 of the seven games on this road trip were in LA-ish and we probably stayed in the same hotel. A 2 hour bus ride is way better than flying. Last nights game was the third of 3 games in 4 nights, that’s never a positive.
The Wild beats Seattle 3-2 to finish a 7 game road trip 4-1-2 picking 10 of a possible 14 points.
